Beautiful!!
This is beautiful parchment. It arrived very quickly. I haven't used it yet but will update when I do, I am sure it will be great from the feel and texture.I am not sure what to Dow with the marbled one, this is the first time I have gotten marbled, the medieval is remarkably beautiful!

Real Parchment, but Rustic, Rough, and Unrefined
It’s real animal skin. If you have a specific project in mind, this is an interesting material to work with. The effect that you will achieve with it is rustic. This is not fine parchment. It’s rough and unrefined: the thickness varies somewhat from one spot to another, the edges have been hewn by hand from a larger piece (so it’s not perfectly square), and the color variations are stark enough to present potential visual distraction from what you put on the surface.To use this for writing, it’s difficult to recommend. The surface has many blemishes that interfere with letterforms. If you need the letters to look precise, you will need to prepare the surface adequately. Yet, I would be hard-pressed to justify the time and expertise required to do so, since Etsy has many options for more refined animal skin vellum/parchment that are at a similar price point as this.Despite its demerits, I cannot justify giving a low mark for this product, since it is not advertised as any more than what I’ve described it as being.The bottom line: I would not recommend this for fine writing applications, but it could be an appropriate material for something rustic or primitive.

Quality
It’s not your typical thin sheet of parchment. This is a bit thicker and is suitable for dipped calligraphy projects. Pure and authentic vellum. Your average ball point pen will struggle. I find it absolutely perfect and I ordered more.

Not suitable for watercolor.
Unfortunately this item was not what I expected. I do watercolor on vellum, but this vellum was not suitable for that medium. It is rough and not smooth. Plus there were pencil marks on the pieces.

If you want paper that looks like parchment, buy that
A small piece of parchment. This is not paper. If you want paper that looks like parchment, buy that. Parchment is actually animal skin. Paper is wood or fiber pulp.I wanted this for historical research purposes, and it serves just fine. Feels very different from paper, and looks different as well.
