Excellent DVD player
After my old Samsung DVD recorder packed in, I decided I just wanted a basic DVD player, no HDD, no recorder, no Blu-Ray etc, and found it quite hard just to find an ordinary cheap player that can convert to Region 0.I took a chance on this one and am so glad I did!!!At an unbelievable price, it just plugs in and it ready to go (comes without a Scart so keep your old one or buy a new one).Just plug it in, switch it on, open the DVD tray with the remote and type in 98790. The numbers don't come up on the screen or anything, but just type in the whole code and then it says it has converted to Region 0. Don't get much simpler than that!!!Some reviewers have said it's quite cheap, but I think it's fine. Nice and quiet, beautifully clear picture, and plays anything, all my Region 1/2/4 and even my old scratched DVDs that I couldn't get to play anywhere else!!Even if it doesn't last that long, to be honest at £26 I wouldn't mind buying a new one every year!! (Not saying it won't though, it might last for years)I can't comment on the USB thing as I don't need to use that)All in all I would totally recommend to anyone who just wants a basic player at a great price. I am going to get one for the kids room too :)

Great DVD player but only lasted one year. Think twice.
I bought this DVD player a year ago to replace an older Toshiba player, because I wanted to watch region 1 DVD's. It was perfect while it lasted, with excellent picture and sound, played any disc, any region with no problems at all. Until it stopped working two weeks ago. I was playing a new DVD and the machine suddenly turned itself off. The display went black. I tried everything I could think of. I tried all the obvious buttons (On/Off, eject, etc), pulled the plug out and checked it, checked it wasn't a problem with my TV screen (it wasn't), dusted the machine inside and out, to no avail. There was nothing wrong with the disc I entered, it was new and legit, played for the first time. I was disappointed. I lost a fine DVD player and the DVD it swallowed. The Toshiba DVD player I owned prior to this product spoiled me by working for eight years solid without fault, so the fact that this player, also Toshiba, broke after only a year was very annoying. Maybe a year is long enough for some people but I wanted it to last at least a year longer, especially considering it was over twice the price of other players I considered purchasing. I've had to use my old one again (which still works!) until I get paid next. I love my old player but it's not multi-region, which is a drag as many of my favourite films are Region 1.On the upside, I do want to buy this multi-region player again. Which sounds foolish, but it was excellent. Maybe another one will fare better. Fingers crossed...

Toshiba SD2010 DVD Player with USB
Like most people i have a vast collection of dvd's that are all different regions, this is where this dvd player comes into it, my old dvd player broke so i came onto amazon looking for a good quality cheap but plays all different regions then i found this dvd player saw other reviews about it and saw the price and ordered it without a moment to spare, it arrived and i couldn't believe how light it felt, it was like there was nothing in the box but there was of course, i opened the box and this lovely shiny dark black slimline dvd player came out, i couldn't wait to try it so i found 2 dvds one with region 1 and one with region 2 tried the region 2 one first that worked perfectly so then tried the region 1 dvd was a bit apprehensive about this one but before i popped the dvd in i pressed on the dvd remote put the code (98790) in and it changed the region to 0 so then i popped the dvd in and it played the dvd perfectly so can play all my dvd's on it now haven't tried the USB yet so not sure if that works as good, oh also the player is not noisy at all some can be when loading or playing this isn't, recommend this to everyone it's best one i have had!

Best Buy!!!
I bought this player (again) as a present for my Father (who is pleased as punch with it). I bought the original one for myself & family, and can report that this is a great looking (and very competent) multiregion player for the money. The player will play all UK purchased (region 2) and any region zero (produced at home DVDR+/DVDR-/DVDRW+/DVDRW- discs). On the introduction of a code via the remote control (search these reviews/discussions to find it, as I have never bothered), you can also make it region free player (ie: plays every dvd possible). This is only required if (for some reason) you have overseas region 1, 3, 4 or 5 dvds you want to play. I don't, so have never put the code in. Tracking these threads, it seems that the code does work easily every time (although it might technically invalidate your product warranty). The only small negatives are that it doesn't have a HDMI socket and that the remote is quite small. Based upon the incredibly low price for a full size multiregional player, however, I feel that these small shortcomings are 100% forgiven.Recommended!
