Good Flash Drive for the Money
Caution: Don’t trust the little lanyard that comes with the drive. Yesterday, the lanyard separated from its metal collar. Fortunately, I discovered this before losing the flash drive. After downloading the free “Y-Disk” app from the Apple app store, as recommended by the minuscule Y-Disk user guide, I backed up over 1600 photos from my iPhone 8 onto the Y-Disk, then I uploaded them to my laptop. They transferred from my iPhone to the Y-Disk reasonably fast, but when I transferred them from the flash drive onto my laptop, it took considerably longer. The good news is, the photos were not corrupted, and the flash drive did work for both uploading and downloading the photos. I should note here that all of the photos were shot RAW, so they are very large files. The one thing I don’t care for is the fact that either the USB connector, or the lightening connector, is left exposed when not in use. To protect the exposed connector from pocket dust, moisture, etc., I carry it in a small, clear plastic, zip-close, craft bag.Because I take hundreds of photographs with my iPhone, I need a large capacity flash drive. I’ve used other flash drives that are faster, but they are smaller capacity drives, while this is a 128GB drive.I do like the ability to plug a flash drive directly into my iPhone, and then use the same drive to upload them to a PC. I know there are other flash drives on the market that will do the same thing, but the relatively low price of this one makes it very appealing. Also, the flash drive, and it’s pivotal case are both made of metal, making it appear to be sturdier than those made of, or encased in, plastic. I also like its ability to connect to either an iOS device, or an Android device, since my daughters both have Android phones. This is accomplished via a hinged USB connector, that folds down to expose an Android compatible connector. On the downside, I have to remove the Otterbox case from my iPhone, to connect the Y-Disk to my phone, because the lightening connector on the Y-Disk is too short to permit a solid connection. One other thing that I’d like to see is the drive’s capacity imprinted on its case. In fact, there is nothing printed on the case, not even the company or the drive name.According to the manufacturer the Y-Disk is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Win 7, Win 10, Mac OS 9.x and above, Linux 2.4, iOS 8, 9, and 10, and Android 5.1 computer systems.Even with the downsides I’ve mentioned, I like this flash drive enough to have now ordered a second one.

Easy to use
This tiny and portable flash drive is really sweet!!! It’s super easy to set up. Once you plug in your target device with either lightning or usb or android port, your device will alert you and invite you to download a small app. When the app is installed in your device, you are good to go, saving all the backups in this cute flash. No more hassle of connecting with the long cables. It would be perfect if the little hole on the end were bigger so that my key rings were able to go through it and I would be able to carry it around with all my keys because I don’t want to risk losing this tiny beautiful thing. Anyway, its a nice and easy-to-use 128gb flash drive, a really great deal. Recommend.

comes with app for one click backups
I bought this 128GB Flash Drive to have plenty of memory to store all of the photos and music I want to store without taking up all of my iPhone memory. The flash drive has a USB connector on one end and a lightning iPhone connector on the other. I also have some very large video files from that I moved from my iPhone to this flash drive that freed up a lot of memory. This is much faster way to move photos and files directly to a USB drive than trying to move them to cloud storage. At first I could not copy files from my pc to it, and I thought it wasn’t going to work. But the error I got said to run check disk on it, which I did and then it worked fine. The Y-Disk app has a nice simple backup function to backup contacts and photos onto the disk with one click. However, there isn’t a similar one touch backup for music.

Extremely Disappointed
The written and online instructions were difficult to understand. All of the pictures in my iPhone 5 did not download into the flash drive. Some did some did no explanation why. my intent was to download all my pictures on the iPhone into the flash drive and delete the pictures on the iPhone to allow more storage capability. Unless I compare the pictures one by one to determine whether or not they were downloaded is not acceptable. I called Amazon and told them I was unwilling to actually return the device unless I smashed it since I was unable to what was or was not on the flash drive. Amazon customer service was very nice and did give me a credit which recouped most of my costs out-of-pocket. If I were Amazon I would take this product the site to avoid future problems. It may work but it did not work for me.

Great iphone backup device
It solved my iphone storage issue. This is a great way to backup pictures from iphone to free up space. And then I can take more pictures. It is lightning fast. The size of this flash drive is 128GB, so it can holds a lot of photos and video.
