The Genius of Machen
This work contains 2 sermons and a collections of letters exchanged with one of Machen's students. But don't let the size and/or brevity fool you. It is packed with Machen's wisdom concerning the state of the Church and the need to preach Christ. What may surprise the reader is that in many ways, Machen was a proto-libertarian in his political views, and those views come out loud and clear in the 2 sermons. This work is highly quotable with keen insight into the problems, and more important the single solution, for our society.

Eyeopening
Was amazed at how much the world happenings then were the same as today. Man never changes - always trying to say the Bible is irrevelant. I was really saddened when it was removed from the schools in the 60's. Our children are really missing out. Don't make assesrtions about the Bible unless you have read it, searched it, and understood it.

Solid Christian theology
Shorter works by the noted conservative theologian. While originially written in the last century, Machen in these writings addresses issues which are important for the early 21st Century. The writing style is clear and very readable by non-theologians. This volume would make a fine selection for a discussion group, and be a useful for those seeking to better understand Christianity. Recommended.

Short But Good
Machen is as readable as he is scholarly. He is an evangelical giant of the 20th century who speaks loud and clear to our own day.
