How to Start a Home-Based Bakery Business (Home-Based Business Series) Paperback – January 11, 2011

I'm enjoying reading this great reference book on opening a bakery business. This book is very well laid out and inclusive of everything you need to know before embarking on this venture. Lots of great wisdom shared by the author.

I would highly recommend this title. In starting a home-based bakery it had page after page of interesting and informative tips. A must read.

This book was just what I was looking for. I have been researching starting a home based bakery for a few months now and this book really helped me. It brought up things that I did not think about and elaborated on things I had questions about. But I would suggest reading, as a companion book from the same series, HOW TO START A HOME BASED BUSINESS by Bert Holtje & Susan Shelly. It is the more technical side of starting any home based business. The two together are the perfect combination.

Although a decent book, as a person who read all of the home based baking books before opening my own business, I will have to comment that the books by Mimi Fix are much more all-encompassing. Fix's book alone is excellent, and in my opinion, the best in overall information. She even shares her best recipes. But the CD-ROM that is included with Ms. Fix's book is a wealth of information and valuable forms to get your business started, making the combination by Fix a great value. I am now reading and enjoying Fix's second book, filled with her tried and true recipes. The tips alone have saved me so much time and money, even though my business is doing well.

Like this book - has useful info

This book is full of information but it is not very positive. We all understand that opening a home business requires a lot of work. The author really pushes this point and is a little discouraging to the reader.

There isn't much here worth reading. The author makes some common sense observations but leaves out anything of substance. I expected some details about marketing, business plans, determining costs, evaluating ingredients and instead I got fluff about working around your kids schedule and chocolate cookie recipes.
