Fuss free rice in microwave
This is really worth the price for me because my hands work badly and it saves manoeuvring pans of boiling water. I was using packs of microwave rice to avoid being scalded which works out pretty costly so it will pay for itself fairly quickly. It makes good rice with very little fuss and doesn't occupy much space.

Recipe finally sorted
Great piece of equipment, easy to clean and store. However, the recipe is nowhere near accurate for my 800W microwave. After various disasters, I've finally arrived at the perfect grain/ water proportion for me.For two people, basmati rice 100 gr requires 275 mls water (cold) and 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes covered outside microwave. For two people, quinoa 100 gr requires 275 mls of * just boiled * water and 10 minutes, with an extra 5 minutes covered outside microwave (cold water just produced sad undercooked quinoa despite an extra 10 minutes cooking time and much stirring in between). I also add a bit of garlic and herbs to it for flavour. Now I get fluffy rice and quinoa every time, tadaa.Worth buying, less mess and good results once you get the recipe right.Update for new 1000W microwave:White basmati rice for two: 100 gr basmati (previously rinsed), and 275 ml tap water, cooking time 8 mins, then take outside and stir, leave covered for 5 mins.

Great product with great results
Bought this to replace our old microwave rice cooker which is falling apart. Was a bit sceptical about the new design, but actually it cooks rice perfectly & is a lit more subtle than the bright red one we had before!

Simple but effective plastic bowl to cook rice in the microwave
It is basically a bowl with a strainer (or a lid with tiny holes), but it does the job. You can easily cook perfect rice in the microwave with it. The lid can be a bit difficult to clean once it starts accumulating starch from the rice, and the wholes could be smaller to avoid smaller grains passing through, but apart from that it is quite well designed.

Lovely fluffy rice
This innocuous looking piece of kitchenware, is breathtaking. For years I had a microwave rice cooker which I bought in Lakeland. It worked extremely well, but eventually wore out. I have spent the last 6 years - and a great deal of money - trying to find a substitute - Lakeland no longer sell the original. The Lekue is a wonderful replacement. Simple to use, brilliant to clean. I did have a small problem with timing because I have a 700 watt microwave and the instructions are for 850 and 750. However, after posing the question on Google, I got a chart of umpteen wattages and timings. All I do now is find the length of cooking time under the 850 and follow the line across to 700. Finally, my rice is consistently edible - and - it freezes in grains, not solid lumps.

Might as well have used used a pan
It looks nice and is well built, but it was very disappointing as a rice cooker, which after all is its job. I bought this to replace a microwave rice cooker we had that broke. You put the rice in an inner container, poured on boiling water and microwaved for 11 minutes. Lakeland no longer sell that version. With the Lékué you put in cold water and microwave it for a lot longer. Hopeless. Use a pan.

Fluffy rice with zero effort
I like the idea of rice cookers but wasn't sure I wanted to fork out for an electrical appliance that might end up sitting at the back of the cupboard. As it turns out, this microwave rice cooker does exactly what I want. I like being able to pop it in the microwave and leave it to do its own thing. It doubles as a serving container if you want, and is easy to clean.

Love this
I love the idea of the lid which then turns around to strain the rice. A great quality item which i hope lasts years. The rice was perfect. I have a 800 watt microwave i cook the rice for 6 minutes stir add more water and cook for another 5 minutes. Seemed a bit pricey but based on what I've seen it will be well worth it
