RogueRocketeer Electric Guitar Pack Black

I bought this for my son as a gift. He has always wanted to learn to play the guitar and I thought at this price, if he decides he doesn't want to play it won't break my heart. When it arrived I was very surprised at how well it was packaged. Opening it up, the guitar as a quality feel that I just wasn't expecting, at this price point anyway. It has some weight to it, seems too be made of real wood and came with a lot of accessories. The little amp that came with it is powerful enough to get annoying. Overall my son loves it, he's not the musical prodigy I was hoping he would be, but at least he is playing it.

Overall this is a good guitar, especially for the money. The finish is great, the pickups are adequate, the amp ok. But if you expect to unbox it and play it, as is, you will likely be disappointed.Others seem to have been more lucky, but the Rocketeer that I bought required substantial adjustment of the rod (which has a two-way thread) , the action, and the intonation. I did not have the skills and needed to bring it to a guitar specialist. So add about $40 to the cost for adjustment.After that I got exactly what I paid for, an OK guitar for a beginner that looks great and sounds good.

It is everything a beginner wants with great value for money... The combo is definitely a great value for money

I purchased this product for my 10 yr old for Christmas. Everything listed was included in the shipping, and all of the products were very good quality for the price. Shipping was exceptionally fast, recieved the product within days of placing the order.

Did not come with the amplifier and was not the right color

With a fairly cheap pricing ($150 at the time of this review, with a strap, gig bag, chord, and practice amp) this guitar makes for a great beginning guitar. What's more, is that with some adjustments, this guitar can play beautifully. Adjustments such as new strings, (the stock strings are pretty much garbage, I added some nice flat wound strings) a new bridge for more sustain, and possibly a new bridge pickup, as I personally wasn't happy with the bridge pickup, but that's just me. The real reasons I love this guitar so much are the neck, and the neck pickup. Never have I heard such a beautiful, clean neck pickup in all the guitars I've had the pleasure to play. It sounds like playing an acoustic guitar when ran through a clean amp. And the neck is so smooth, it feels better than any mid range guitar I've tried. A satin like feel, you slide along it amazingly. Of course, with any cheaply made guitar (as this is a cheaply made guitar, believe it or not) there are some construction issues with it. The action might not be the best, nor will the body be made all that well. The sustain isn't all that great, but not atrocious. However, these are issues with easy solutions to most players, and will hardly inhibit oneself while playing. With a new bridge and new strings, this versatile guitar can be almost anyone's main guitar, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
