Steve Coogan and Paul Rudd star as Erasmus and Paul, a bickering gay couple whose life is turned inside out when a ten-year old boy shows up at their door claiming to be Erasmus' grandson. Neither Paul, nor Erasmus, are ready to give up their extravagant lifestyles to be parents, but maybe this little kid has thing or two to teach them about the value of family. Review: Thank you desertcart for finally getting a movie right! - FINALLY A MOVIE WORTH WATCHING! I have watched my fair share of crappy movies on desertcart prime and I was ready to give up my subscription. Tonight I decided to look for some thing to help me fall asleep but this movie got me laughing! I am not into movies about gay couples AT ALL but this was not at all cringy. It was a great balance of laughable moments and touching moments. At the end I just started bawling because to get a sense that someone could love you that much, if you watch it you’ll see what I mean. This movie really touched my heart and the characters were fun to watch. Thank you desertcart for finally getting it right! Review: Funny, heartwarming, and a big cut above the average relationship/kid movie! - I thought I would like this because of the cast but I ended up really loving it all on its own. The writer(s) took a basic theme - a couple with a failing relationship that suddenly has the pressure of a child - and made it something fresh. Since Steve Coogan usually plays sardonic, humorously negative characters and Paul Rudd is usually the easy going nice guy I assumed they would both play to type again. It was a nice twist to see that (somewhat) switched and see the young boy be more than just a stock character brat. All three were multidimensional characters that added more depth to the plot than I expected, made me really care about them, and made their relationships with each other feel very genuine. The acting and writing were great and - for those as obsessed with sets as I am - the house is Gorgeous! I highly recommend this movie!

Heartwarming, Funny, Ridiculously Well Acted
The script is great and these actors play so well off of each other, Wow! There were a few scenes that had me laughing down to my belly. There's this fine line between caricature and comedy. To me, it's feeling the heart and emotions of the character that make it comedy rather than caricature and I feel like both Rudd and Coogan walked that line so well. Beautiful story, thoroughly entertaining. Andrew Fleming gives the actors plenty of material to play with without pulling away from the story line. I hope he writes some more for us because this just made my evening :)

Families Come in All Kinds of Ways
Great movie! Funny, hilarious, and touching. My husband's Cousin is gay and married and they both are parents to twins, (one boy, one girl) through segregate birth mother. One stays home with the kids, (he has a master's degree in special educations) and the other is a doctor in a hospital. I wish we had a gay couple who lived on our street!! Gay people make the world a better place. They are fun, kind and accepting of all. Everyone should have a gay family member or close friend. I do and I love it!

Delightful
Somehow missed this in 2018 but I'll pretty much watch anything with Paul Rudd and Steve Coogen. I think it was just the right mix of realistic humor with pathos. And if the language offends you then you clearly don't get out into the public much. I keep my swearing to family and fiends but the real world isn't as circumspect. I think it showed a picture of relationships, that though far from perfect, are still loving and accepting. And the humor carried the day!

Je ne suis pas spécialement fan des comédies mais celle-ci assez décalée et en même temps réaliste m’a fait rire aux éclats.

Smart comedy with a great story and a wonderful cast. This will surely become one of my go-to movies when I need to lift my spirits.

the story plot was not bad but as it went on it was terrible it had to be very low budget
