The Pluto is an excellent choice of SDR for working the QO-100 geostationary satellite equiped with a linear transponder.My Pluto needs a mod to avoid drift at 2.4 GHz. I'll add an extra SMA to allow a GPSDO. Then it's a small pre-amp followed by an 8w Wifi booster straight into a helical antenna (5 turns) RHCP pointed at the satellite.For Rx, the Pluto tuned to the downlink IF from a sat dish and LNB. Using SDR Console software.An excellent bit of equipment indeed.Eric G1SLP.

Order this only if you know what to do with it!
This little piece of electronic kit is fascinating. It comes with absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS for its use. Even in 40 different languages as usual. As a Radio Amateur of some 60 years experience I will wrestle with it to try and get value from it. If you are still an embryo radio enthusiast wait a bit before buying this. There are more easy to use SDR units on the market.Look up YouTube for possible uses but beware it is not easy!!!!

Easy to use, yet somewhat low power output.
Its a breeze to use and MATLAB libraries and courseware for it are perhaps the best SDR lecture around. Absolute must have for SDR nerds like me.
