THE best yet.
Astonished by the graphics and amazed by how much more of a real driving simulation it is, Gran Turismo 5 DELIVERS. The first thing I did though was look at the trophy list after installing. If there are any platinum trophy freaks like me this one has work cut out for you. One of them i noticed was Gold star in all license, events, and single events. If you ever played a GT then you know there are easily over 300 races, just me popping through the menus I think there are definitely 300 but I could be wrong... not to mention the endurance races. Now for the graphics... I honestly must say that this just might be the best looking racing game ever if not, tell me what is. As for the game play its a step up from gt4 in simulation but not anymore difficult. The only problem i see with GT5 so far is the loading times. I'm use to fast load times on other games but this is not the case for GT5, but I don't care because each race is worth the load time, oh and by the way I'm sure after a few races one would just get use to the load times, every race I have done so far I have just admired every detail that the developers put in to it. I would recommend every ps3 owner to have this game if you are into racing games, however, if you like need for speed or any other type of arcade game GT5 is nothing like those games. If you have never tried a Gran Turismo game before I suggest you rent this or play it on a display before you buy so you know what your getting into. Have fun, Happy Thanksgiving to all. EDIT: Although amazing I have been finding flaws which remind me of the huge mistake of releasing Gran Turismo 2 in the state that it was in. I'm having fun racing but the B-spec mode SUCKS......... Its twice as long as a-spec and you cannot speed it up like GT4. I really think these guys just sat around and got drunk or just hanged out for the 5 years of development because in 5 years they should have been able to have the usual amount of races for each class. This time around there are hardly any rally races and at times the graphics shop up like crazy. I loved gran turismo sense day one of me playing it. Although i feel let down. I hope us fans don't have to wait 6 more years. Seriously I love gran turismo but i cant see myself playing it as much as I did the previous GT's because its extremely short when compared to the previous games. I wanted more races. All we can hope for is gt 6 soon, or at least some add- on content.

The top race game by far
This game series continues to impress. the graphics are a step up from the last version and pretty incredible. This all is nice but if the game stinks who care what it looks like. this is not the case here. The gaming experience is just awesome. Realistic is all I have to say. If you are looking for a need for speed or midnight club dumb down race experience you will not find this here and you will not like this game. This is for people who want a real driving experience and a little more of a challange than most race games. IE how much throttle, when, how much braking and when, car set up, gear ratio, what drive train, ECT is all critical to your lap time as is the car set up as it all interacts and is all critical. If you tweak something or setting a bit too much yuor car will be off the track or banging into walls. you will need to do a bit of educating yourself on what camber angle and toe angle and bound and reboun do or how the spring rate or ride height do to car preformance if you are not a series verteran but it is worth the effort. I have not played on line yet as there is probally pretty limited people as the game was just released but I am sure it will be better than the last version as everything else is. I got this on a release day delivery from Amazon and have logged about 60 hrs over the thanksgiving weekend. This is additive. It does take a bit of time in the GT mode to get to the good cars but even driving the low end cars is a lot of fun and really teaches you the race lines on each track. the go cart is a nice addition as is the nascar element. I can not wait for my playseat and my g27 stearing wheel and pedals to get here so far using the regular PS controller but still good. Have not tried the 3D yet as I am waiting for the glass to be delivered. I here from a buddy though that the 3D is great and a must.

Still the greatest video game franchise ever
I have absolutely loved the Gran Turismo franchise ever since the first one came out for the original Play Station in the 90's. And after a very long wait, the new one is finally here, and I must say GT5 was worth the wait. I have only spent a few hours playing the game so far, but from what I have experienced, I love it. It has brought back all of the great features of past versions and expanded on them and upgraded them. I really have no complaints except for that the load times are a bit slow for some of the races, but other than that, the game is as polished as can be (which was a relief after rushing GT2 through development and leaving it full of bugs, and rushing GT3 through development and leaving it lacking in features)...I am glad they took their time making this one right...GT4 was great, and GT5 takes it to even a higher level. Obviously lots of tracks (70+) and lots of cars (1,000+) are great things, but I also love the menus and the navigation as well, which had some issues in previous versions (such as the cursor hanging out in oblivion and not on a clickable icon when you would go from screen to screen). I also like that all the controls have stayed the same, and the handling and difficulty seems to be about the same as previous versions...basically if you are an experienced GT-er, you will have no problems starting out. I am hoping however that there are not too many ridiculous 4-5 hour endurance races, especially like some of the brutal ones of the past like the stock Mazda Roadster endurance that was about as much fun as watching paint dry, and just punish you in trying to get 100% complete on the game...we will see how that all goes as I get deeper into the game. Most of all though, I love the depth and many new features...the go-karts are a blast, for one, and there are many new performance mods available! I am sure that I will spend many, many enjoyable hours with this game. I highly recommend for both old-school GT fans, as well as newcomers who will appreciate a game that takes patience, skill, strategy, and a big learning curve.

In Depth review for the casual racing gamer
First let me start off by saying, ignore any reviews under 3 stars, they are mostly trolls or people who don't like gran turismo racing style and prefer pure arcade driving. That said there are good reviews from 3-5 stars and some of the 3 star reviews are spot on and this game may warrant that rating. I am giving it 4 stars though as I have spent 10 hours playing it so far and enjoyed most of them (probably 70% of it), the other 30% is me trying for gold trophies when I should have just settled for the bronze or silver as it was not worth 3 hours of my life to try to get gold! Yes I pre-ordered this game a year ago and have been waiting for it since I bought the PS3 and then racing wheel. And I am happy I have it now as it is fun and to me worth a 4 star rating. who cares about the delays, its out now! Good: -tons of cars (also a bad) -amazing and cool photo mode (especially for amatuer photogs like myself), it was cool to take cars I used to own and are in the game (and cars I wish I still had) go around to different locations and take cool pictures, export them and its amazing how real life they look. -many ways to play the game -good detail, amazing replay mode (or watching mode in Spec B) Bad: -tons of cars, yeah it has 1000 cars but 800 of them are Japanese cars, maybe 30 different models and just different variations and years of those cars! thats fine if you also had tons of American, German, Italian cars the same way... I realize this game was produced in Japan, but give some more hommage to American and European cars already. Its all about Balance! -Damage, I have heard it gets more realistic as the game progresses and maybe they limited it in early levels because they don't want people spending $10,000 on repairs when a gold only gets you $4,000 cash! I could sort of understand that thinking, but people wanted to see it right away -Car wash? cool feature but pointless since your car is never dirty, I could race my M Coupe through 10 races and after a wash it looks exactly the same, at least make it look dull and put some dirt on it so the car wash makes it all sparkly again! -more ways to look at your garage and cars are needed. Give us a free view camera while in the garage so we can see it from all angles, including hte interior that you spent so long making! and how about a garage view of all your cars or at least a section of it with your favorites or something, maybe something you can walk around in like photo mode. -Car modifications, why can't you put turbos in any car you wish? I can't put a turbo in my M3 or M coupe, why? this is supposed to be a "realistic racing game" well there is nothing stopping you from putting a turbo on one of these cars in real life, just need modifications to do so, and they are all going that way anyway in the next few years. Also no brake modifications? and the power jumps are too small for the prices, $4,000 turbo gets you 10 more horsepower? in real life it would get you 50-60 more horsepower (look at a BMW 328i compared to a 335i), okay enough with BMW, sorry about that, just what I have driven in the game the most. -License and special events WAY TOO HARD for early levels, I am an amatuer at racing games and not an expert, so some of you out there will say it should be tough, but I am talking the early levels, I mean there are 5-6 license levels, the first one should be easy for everyone to get gold, and amatuer casual gamers should be able to get gold within 10 tries on at least the first 3-4 licenses, make the last 2 tough to get, otherwise it just frustrates the core of your buyers. and the special races are a joke, well I take that back, just the Top Gear ones, they are just annoying and impossible to win unless you are the top 1% of drivers who bought this game. -Need a bigger used car lot with better pricing and structure, maybe buy a car for cheap that turns out to be a beast (maybe it has engine mods that weren't shown in the used car lot) or a car for tons of $$$ that ends up needing even more $$$ in repairs, give it some life! -AI sort of sucks, I have read this on most reviews and its true, its just frustrating, once you get a lead, you hold it unless you crash, but to get that lead its annoying because the AI rams you left and right and just a tiny touch can make you loose control while they are not effected. Make the AI try to avoid hitting you and make them spin out more if they do, also give it some variation, so all the computer cars aren't just driving down the driving line every single lap. now it may seem like my negative list is way longer than my positives and its strange I still gave it 4 stars! but thats because I still love this game and many other racing games have even more flaws that I can't live with. This game is the best option for me I just wish it was a little better as noted by the negatives. Just short of 5 stars but better than 3 stars in my eyes. Would also be cool if they somehow did an "evolution" time line style gameplay like in Porsche Unleashed many years ago (still one of my favorite racing games of all time). They have over 1000 cars, many older ones, why not have a game start in the 50s and progress every 5 years, just as an optional mode for people who like that sort of thing. you can buy cars new on dealer lots in the 50s, race them, progress through time, new cars come available, older ones still in used car lot, classic races for you to use older cars with, now that would be a kickass feature! but they would need to add more older Euro and American cars first. One last note, GET THE PORSCHE LICENSE AWAY FROM EA! Whatever it takes, stupid that GT claims to be the best racing game out there but doesn't have one of the best racing companies in it! How much did EA want for the license? Or does EA fear GT so much that they wouldn't sell it at any price thinking no one would buy their games (which would not be the case, especially since GT is only for the PS3).

If you like cars, but arent the guy in Fast & Furious...
Pros- The Game has an incredibly Vast amount of content, Cars & challenging trials to go along with a competitive online mode.. The graphics are above average , the game play is superb. Its addictive..(guess that can be bad too) Cons-Load times in the beginning are tedious, only slightly tedious once installed to disk. Thats the only complaint worth mentioning in my opinion. Wheel support is acceptable & online issues are being resolved over time.. GAME PLAY- Forgive me for going all over the place, but I will try my best to put you in the game. The game is incredibly fun to play, there is incentive to race & not stop, to get better so that you can get more credits to buy better cars(If you love cars the game is worth it just to see them all, drive them all and modify them, you can install your own wheels & select paint/Colors on most of the cars that you acquire). The idea is to raise your level of experience so that you can compete in harder races as you go along, which will earn you more credits the higher your level..Its not easy to get bored because you are always buying a new car or racing a new track or type of race which presents new challenges.. You can race in karts which is pretty intense yet a fun change of pace, there is a Nascar Jeff Gordon tutorial to play around with and try out..There is rally car racing, an event for Pickups and much more silly things like racing the Volkswagon van or Minis or Toyota Yaris events.. You have certain events for Ferraris or Lamborghinis only & typically you will win a car that is mandatory for the event upon winning Gold in the entire event(it would be nice to have the car prior to, but thats part of the game knowing the right cars to buy to use for different events..For example an event may read "Japanese Classics" (& you would then have to drive a 60s or 70s Japanese vehicle to enter that race, you will notice distinctive differences in how the cars behave & sound,a car will not stay on the road doing 150mph with standard tires or even sport, you will have to splurge on racing tires when your cars are really moving, get the wrong transmition upgrade & you will lose power, You get the idea, things you do will make differences for the most part, not sure if the oil change makes a difference or how much of an impact weight reduction really has on in game cornering, but its cool to be able to do all the fun car stuff, all be it oversimplified & sometimes far fetched! thats cool enough for me. Now if you just finished racing Chan for slips & have NOS in your car, you may not like the game if you bought it expecting all of the subtle nuances of driving & wish to smell burning rubber!lol However if you like being able to ride in and hook up a bunch of different real cars from a bunch of different Decades (I mean there are Challengers, Vettes, Mustangs, Camaros for the Muscle lovers, Skylines from all years, GTRs, Supras, Old Type R Civic Hatches,Acura NSX, THere are a ton of Audis, Jaguars, Supercars like Lambos, Ferraris, Racing editions of Production cars. Its ridiculous(there are even a boatload of regular cars that you have probably owned & will get a kick out of supercharging and hooking up), I cant name a hundreth of the content or available cars.... You can even learn about tons of cars and collect photos & information about classic cars throughout history just from playing, they are called Museum Cards, you get them just for logging in & playing each day. Now Ive only raced a few times online, but it seems to be enjoyable as long as you can figure out which race you belong in, it is a little hard to Navigate through the users and races, but once I got in it was fun, I did not experience any lag or glitches & I have The faster of the available Cable internet, not sure if thats why. I cant give you an in depth online review as I mostly play GT Mode bc at 3 hours a day for 10 days Im just approaching half of the A Spec content. B Spec is where you are the crew guy Coaching a driver to win the race, you will find that the driver doesnt need much coaching when given a good car & its cool to do the B Spec when your watchin TV to Earn credits when your not able to play, I just hit the Input button watch TV & turn back when I think the race is over.. Not fun bc you are not racing, but I think the idea here is to teach you another aspect of racing & for you to watch the approach you should take in various scenarios, Id rather race but whatever, its there. Graphics- I will speak in Overall terms, the Graphics are superb, Cars look like the cars they are made to, the roads look like roads, the Cockpit views available on a lot of the cars are recognizable as the cars they are intended to. As far as Graphics I was not disappointed nor blown away, but I think Gameplay is the strong suit.. WHEELS- Now This is a subject Im very interested in, the Logitech Driving Force GT is the official Force Feedback wheel supported by the game, meaning its fully Customizable buttons, sequential Shifter(not H pattern,it just goes up or Down) & pedals shifters all function with the game. Amazon is now selling it for 100 bucks shipped free which isnt bad to see how you like using a wheel which has great reviews. but I like the idea of The H pattern stick in the G25 or newer 27 and Fanatec 911 GT3/Clubsport line.. Ive read that the 27 wheel will function fine from a few different sources, but the buttons are not customizable which is something to consider.. The Fanatec 911 GT3 RS Wheel has 3 Feedback Motors and is probably the best WHEEL out right now, all be it expensive(around 180 bucks for the wheel alone) if you need to buy the 6 plus one shifter & H pattern along with pedals as they are sold seperately on the Fanatec site.. Another wheel being touted as the "GT5 Official Wheel" is the Thrustmaster T500 RS Wheel..(Polyphony claims this may be the new GT5 top quality wheel) This wheel is the newest from Thrustmaster(which has a marginal reputation for wheels so far), and as of 12/16/10 I dont even believe its for sale yet, but pictures are available & if this wheel does come out soon GT5 will support it as Thrustmaster is marketing it as "the" wheel for the game.. The wheel has new Feedback Technology that may escalate Thrustmasters wheels past The G25/27, but seeing is believing & what I believe to be around a 500 dollar price tag for what may ultimately be just a wheel & paddle shifters is too high(even if Im wrong & 500 gets pedals & a shifter), for that I would get the triple motored 911 wheel From Fanatec and get the pedals and H pattern Shifter for around 300 altogether, Also Logitechs Website is offering the G27 with a coupon as another reviewer stated for 269(dont get ripped off, shop around) all in all its a great wheel just not customizable buttons. Best advice is to get the Force GT if you dont own a wheel, see if you even like it bc its not a great expense at 100 bucks & you can always resell it.. Or if you want a top notch fully supported wheel, wait for Thrustmaster T500, Check out the Fanatec Wheels which are compatible with G27/25 Pedals & Sticks via an adapter Fanatec sells.. It would be nice if the "most detailed simulator" for Driving was proactive enough to fully support with customizable buttons all of the best wheels out right now.. But I think If you read between the lines most of them will work just fine..As in most things, it all depends on what you want & how much you're willing to spend for it. Please Comment if you can elaborate on any new wheel info as there is not much accurate feedback around on actual GT5 Tested wheels.

a mix of good and bad
I am forced to admit that GT5 gives you a lot for your money, but there were so many head-slappingly inane decisions made about the gameplay that I am forced to give this a hostile review: 1. The main thing I hated about this game was that there were no difficulty settings. Basically you must take everything at full-bore difficulty, and woe to you if this is too hard. But really, it's not that some of the tracks are hard so much as the WAY they were hard. You're driving a car worth about 45,000 and they put you in races with supercars worth 20 million? (Not just that, but there's no way you youself can possibly purchase such cars at this point.) This is neither fun nor fair, but there's nothing you can do about it. So you just start calculating to yourself, "If I were to come in first place in this race 215 times, I would have enough money to buy one of those Ferraris." 2. Another gripe I have is that in this game, supercars are not supercars. Naturally after you've been playing for a little while you will shop around for a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. Don't spend your money: instead, go to the Internet, where you'll find discussion forums that will tell you that you can get a much better-performing car for a lot less, say the Nissan GT-R. But this is a little ridiculous. The game doesn't seem right when a 2009 fully-decked out Lamborghini is getting comprehensively out-performed by a garden-variety Nissan sedan! Something seems wrong. 3. There are no Porsches to be had in this game, for licensing reasons, I assume. This is probably not the programmers' fault, but still. 4. One can maximally have only 20 million in the bank. This really blows since the cars that cost 20 million will cost you more than that, since it's virutally impossible to ding 20 million precisely: any money earned over that will simply not be recorded. But what really blows is that when you finally buy that Lamborghini Miura, you'll have to garage it until you can buy tires for it. This really seemed wrong. 5. There exists a big gap between the Professional Series and the Extreme series. Basically, if you'd like to continue into the Extreme Series, you're going to need a car that is worth several million dollars. The problem is that nothing you can possibly do in the Professional Series is going to net you anywhere near that amount of money. There is simply no way to transition smoothly from the Profeesional Series to the Extreme Series. Hence the only solution is you've got to sit there for a couple of weeks running your B-spec drivers robotically around Daytona-style tracks until you have enough money to continue on with the next phase of the game. So basically the game gets held up for a week or two while you get on to other things, such as your homework. This was an asinine design decision. 6. The player is not able to control realism settings. You've got no choice but to put up with weather, tire burn-out, car damage, etc. 7. The cars you win for finishing certain series can only be won once. This doesn't make sense. Can you imagine telling contestants in any sort of game that they can't win the prize because they've already won such a prize in the past? 8. The game plays with you by racing cars against you that are not readily available for purchase, such as the Yellowbird or the Chaparral. I did not find this amusing. 9. There are not enough tracks! This is because so many of the tracks are wasted on idiotic races (e.g., a tournament for the owners of a VW Lupo!?!?) that when you'd like to take one of your cars out for a race, there are only three or four choices to choose from? You can only select the track of your choice if you're just practicing or if you're running cars that you don't own (i.e., GT mode). But as for taking your beloved babies out on tracks you never get to see them on, forget it! Those tracks are reserved for the pickup truck races! 10. One is not allowed to restart races in tournaments. 11. Having the cost of re-structuring the chassis be half of the car's value was totally unfair, as was the cost of an engine overhaul. These prices are punitive, not realistic. And what's the point of this anyways? Next up: having us pay for gas and insurance? (Incidentally, I discovered that one's chassis breaks automatically without your even crashing the car. Here's how: 1) buy new car. 2) enter race 3) immediately exit race before driving an inch. You'll now have the option of restoring the chassis, implying that the car is damaged, since you're not permitted the option of paying for chassis repairs if the car is not damaged.) 12. Your car has to come in for pitstops for new tires and stuff: other cars don't. On the Extreme B-spec races, for example, it is only your car that has problems with tires balding out about lap 9: the other cars never seem to. Why is that? 13. The physics of the game don't make sense. First of all, it's impossible to flip your car, no matter what you do. There is no animation for it. Neither do cars crash or show damage (though you have to pay for chassis damage). But it goes deeper than that. It seems like the physics of crashing and interacting with walls and other cars don't resemble reality. For example, if you go off the track and hit a wall at, say, a 20 degree angle, your car will be smashed back to about a 160 degree angle, facing the wrong direction. NEVER are you simply "righted" back to a zero degree angle. It's almost as if the game is punishing you for crashing into walls, but in a way that doesn't make sense visually. There's more, too. There seems to be a sort of magnet effect going on sometimes. Unlike my first example, this might actually be real physics: I don't know, but it sure feels wrong. What I mean is that when you run up on the rear end of the car in front of you, your car seems to "stick" and you can't detach yourself unless you completely slam on your brakes. You can't simply scrape off to one side. The same goes if your car is running along a wall, scraping along it at high speeds. It seems like you ought to be able to steer away from it, detaching yourself. But instead you're magically stuck to the wall somehow, and you can only veer away from it by greatly reducing your speed. 14. Further, the physics of collisions seem unfair. Every time you collide with another car, yours is the one that is bumped off the road into the sand, never the enemy's. It seems like this should happen about 50% of the time, but no. It's virtually impossible to knock an opponent's car off the track: if you do, it recovers immediately. It seems like if there is a collision, it negatively affects only your car. Why do you always get the short end of the stick? 15. The prices in this game are totally messed up! You can buy a car for 2 million, deck it out with all the trimmings, and then, when you go to sell it, get about 200,000 for it, even though you haven't put a single mile on it! This is not how reality works. Realism-based, eh? 16. The game keeps making you go over to Google to find out what kinds of cars you're talking about. When you're in the used store, for example, how'm I supposed to know that an SLS AMG is a kind of Mercedes? [This was fixed in a patch.] 17. As of the 2.02 update, the game has started to get more mercenary. There will be cars displayed available for purchase, but you can't buy them unless you pay the company extra money for additional downloadable content through the PlayStation store. A good example of this is the VW Golf '07. Before the 2.02 patch, you could simply buy it from the new car dealership. After December 2011, however, you had to pay more money (literal money, not game credits) to get that car. Sheesh. You figure if you lay out forty or fifty bucks for the game, they'd be done hustling you, but no. 18. There's a huge gap with the difficulty at higher levels of the game: they don't scale well. After you get the Formula Gran Turismo, for example, it feels like you entered the cheat code and the remainder of the game is uninteresting, if not tedious. 19. The manual sucks! This game was released more than a year previous to this review, and by now you'd think people'd know how to play the game. No. For example, what causes chassis damage? Is it aggressive driving? Collisions? Or simply miles? Nobody seems to know. Various websites have various theories, but nobody seems to agree about this basic thing. But don't look to the manual to clarify that or anything else: the most the extremely brief manual will tell you is "if you have an epileptic seizure, you should stop playing." 20. The tracks are aseptic, almost lifeless. If I see the Monza circuit one more time, I'm gonna barf! I can't put my finger on why the Need for Speed tracks seem so various and invigorating while those of GT5 seem so jejune, but it's definitely a problem. 21. There's no way to upgrade your braking and steering. 22. This game features ads up the wazoo: currently for Motul, Agip, Dunlop, and some others. These names will change with time because these companies have paid to have their logos plastered all over the racetracks and there's no way you can avoid them. 23. There's no way to prevent the game from auto-saving. This would have been useful in trying out a car you suspected was a crock. The Ferrari Enzo, for example, wasn't worth half the money you paid for it, but there was no way to test it out and then get your money back. 24. The "Seasonal Tracks" require you to race with crummy cars or cars with a strict horsepower limit. 25. Why can't I paint my cars any color I want as many times as I want? I have like a billion dollars! Instead I have to "earn" paint!? It's ridiculous! 26. There's some sort of bug (or other fun-ruining mechanism) whereby, in B-spec, your drivers don't get full credit for all the experience they accumulate. This seems to happen about level 30. You can put them through a 24-hour endurance race, and they'll only move up one level, not the several levels the raw points they've been given should net them. Then, those excess points disappear somehow and are never counted. 27. There is (alas!) a rather serious bug that's started to plague the game starting with the patch that came out in December of 2011. When you are in the camera view that allows you to see the back of your car, the frame will jolt a bit every time you go around a turn to re-center itself. This only starts happenening after you reach about 10 laps of the same track, but it means that endurance races will give you a headache. 28. Er, howzabout warning me, before I spend more than 10 million on certain cars such as the Ferrari F1s that they cannot be used in normal races? And that you're not allowed to sell them once you've bought them? (As you can tell by this review, I played this game day and night for quite a while, but this was the thing that finally soured me on it and inspired me to write this cranky review. Go, little review! Fly! May you decrease Polyphony's sales and cause them to go under!) In sum, it's a little difficult for me to believe I have so many complaints about this game, but I do. What's not showing, of course, is that I really got into it and played it for weeks. Hence despite all these gripes I confess that it is well worth the money. Here's a couple of things I liked about it: 1. The game really gets you interested in racing history and you start reading a lot more about that subject. That's gotta be considered a plus for a game. This kinda starts when you're like, "Wait. Why would a '69 Ford be going for 20 million?" 2. Initially I thought B-spec was the stupidest thing I ever saw. Why would I want to watch the PlayStation play itself? That was only until I realized you can set B-spec going while you went off to classes or to sleep and when you came back you'd have a whole bunch of money. I admit I actually quite got into this: it was oddly satisfying, heading off to work or wherever, knowing that you were kinda playing even though you weren't there. It was a great opportunity to get a lot of other, real-life work done during this time.

GT4 for PS3
First of all, I am a TRUE GT fan since it came out for the first PS system. I have always loved this franchise and even have pre-ordered GT3 A Spec, GT4 and GT5. I finished succesfully all GT series up to GT4, since GT5P was a very lousy game to my expectation. This game is identical to GT4 but for PS3!!! The graphics are amazing, sound is superb, but it is still lacking that WOW factor you felt when you played GT4 for the first time. Is says it has 1,000 cars+. Sure it does, BUT you have to keep getting inside the Used Car dealer to see different cars and the old ones disappear. In GT4 you got to see new cars but the old ones were still there to be sold. That is a pain in the %&*#@$ since it slows down the game if you have to race with a certain car or type of car. For example: before I was finishing the Beginner Championships I saw a Toyota Tacoma XRunner truck in the Used car section. I did not know I needed it at the Amateur Championships...guess what? When I wanted to buy it for that event, it was not there...what a pain...there are no more trucks for you to buy or to receive as a prize and I am already at level 15 in the Expert Series. Same thing happened with other types of cars but a couple of days later I got them. So, my advice is if you are just starting out BUY THE FREAKIN' TRUCK before you get in the same situation I did. Second of all and most important of all...I got sick playing!!! Don't know how last Wednesday i started feeling dizzy, sweating and thought my heart was racing faster than my Mercedes SLS :( I immediately stopped playing and thought I was having a stroke or something and I am only 33!!!I run 3 miles 4 times a week plus basketball twice a week and also eat healthy, so that makes me a healthy person. Well, I stopped playing for that night. Two days later I started playing and 10 minutes later I started to feel the same freakin' rush I felt last wednesday. I stopped playing and felt ok. Couple of hours later, the same. Then I started playing COD MW2 for like 2 hours online and nothing happened. I tried playing any of my 25 games and nothing happened to me, only with GT5!!!! So this means, that there is nothing wrong with my health, there is something with GT5 that I just cannot tolerate...snif! snif! :( Conclusion: I have to sell the game or just give it to a friend of mine In summary:: Pros: -Amazing graphic detail @ full HD capability -More realistic crashes -Excellent level of car detail -Only real racing game for PS3 (have tried them all) -Driving levels give you a harder game instead of just gaining licenses to go further Cons: -Difficult to get the cars you need -AI is still inferior -Installing the game sucks you 1 full hour of YOUR time -Loading times are high -Can get you sick -the music, ohhhhhhh the music, for the love of God!!! Verdict: go ahead and buy it, there is not another racing game for PS3 out there really worth it...hope you don't get sick like I did though :S

Simulation Driving at its best but AI still a problem.
A short review for those on the fence.. Its a great simulation driving game. For the long wait and multiple delays for release I think it is worthy because the graphics are second to none and driving experience is tops for car role and feel, however I knocked one star off because once the dust settles and you see clearly past the graphics the AI is on rails and there is NO car damage which begins to fusturate you after sometime. One of the reasons I feel the driving experience is better than expected is because I am using the GT wheel and I don't believe this or any other sim racing game can come close to its potential when using the controller to drive. One thing anyone not familiar with sim driving games is that this is not BLUR, which is an arcade style racing game, and comparing the two would be like apples and oranges. GT5 is a full scale racing sim game that takes time to get the hang of and something that can not be mastered over night because of its complexity along with there being tons of content that needs to be unlocked over time. All in all a great game for someone who truly loves cars and is willing to put the time in to really unlocking its potential. If you are on the fence and do decide to take the plunge you really need to get a wheel also otherwise your experience may be hindered, and it will never live up to what the creator envisioned. UPDATE: After now playing GT5 for a few days I have to say that I am changing my 4 star to 5 because I think I was to harsh on the AI when it isn't as bad as I thought and in the big picture this game is amazing. Now that I've been digging deeper into the game it really is great how must detail went into creating this game. Aside from the amazing graphics it just has so much to offer and I think I was being unrealistic at first because its release date was pushed so many times that I let my imagination run so high into the clouds that no game could live up too, but once the dust subsided this game really is phenomenal and you won't be sorry. GET IT!!!

Ein Strategiespiel mit Autos.
Das Spiel ist ein schöner Zeitvertreib. Man fährt wirklich Auto, und rast nicht einfach wild durch die Gegend. Das 3D-Erlebnis ist empfehlenswert.

NIce Game
Nice Game BUTTTT! Man it took forever to load on my playstation3. It took over an hour to update and upload data to the playstation. This disc/game uses up LOTS of space on the hardrive but the results are wonderful. Actually I am impressed with all the features the game has to offer. I have a thrustmaster T150 steering wheel and it works great with it. It actually vibrates yahooo Feel like in a real r ace car Highly recommend this game for P3 users
