At that time decorative accents simply were not available. As I was researching hardware for this project I was amazed at what was on the market, especially Ozco's building products. I really think their robust hardware really makes a project stand out. I purchased numerous products of theirs to accent the rough cut cedar pergola as you can see by the photos. They are not cheap, but they are also not cheap in quality. I did spend a lot of all of them combined, but I really think they make the pergola look great. Many friends and family have commented on how great the black accents look, and plan to use them in their projects.

I also wrote a review on other Ozco products I purchased. This is a continuation. I designed and built my first pergola for our patio in 1999. Love these products. These little brackets not only make installing the overhead boards easy, keep them perfectly aligned and they make the entire wood pergola look upscale and beautiful. The perfect accent. They come 10 in a box and are the best price around, great value and love the ease of use. We used the 2 inch for our 2x6 overhead boards and they were perfect.
