Great septic tank system probe. I found the septic system distribution box in a matter of minutes. This probe is super strong and won't bend. I highly recommend this product.

Works great, very heavy duty! If you really bear down on it, it WILL puncture a PVC pipe, so be 'gentle'. (Personal experience IS ALWAYS the best teacher!) We've used ours MANY times, and it works great. Just wipe it off, and maybe a very light coat of oil or grease, and it'll last HUNDREDS of years!!! So, this can be one of your HEIRLOOMS!!!! Only problem is, no one in the future will know what the hell this tool is for!!!

I love this thing for finding the test stations on gas mains. Less time on my knees stabbing around. I've also used it to fine the water meter and sewer clean out at my house. If youre questioning it.....dont. order now and save your body some wear and tear.

Its worth it.

Considering hourly charge of plumber, a tool like this is a good value if you are willing to put in the labor yourself and need to follow a pipe. Repeatedly pushing through soil will tire you out, but the T handle allows me to use my body weight (tall/skinny and 200 lbs) to get it done. Following a pipe, especially if it is straight, is quite easy, probe, hit it, probe again, hit it, probe again, hit it. If the pipe turns a lot, it's not so easy because you need to repeatedly probe, miss, probe, miss, etc. The deeper the pipe, the harder to probe, but you are potentially saving a lot of digging, and limit how much you'll tear up the grass. Also, if a pipe is below another, that's harder to follow. Before ordering, I converted a long 3 foot "weed digger" by grinding off the forked tongue end into a point. Skinnier profile but harder to grip and therefore harder to push into the soil. This is thicker, but it doesn't flex badly, and the coated T handle is great.

Jan 15/ 2016. Southern ontario. We've been below zero for a week now. Today was plus 4, took the probe for a test drive. After 5 or so stabs in the same location, it busted through the frost layer and slid all the way down the 4 ft of the shaft. This thing is awesome and didn't flex, bend, or wobble . Can't wait for spring time. This will help out with the bottle hunting definitely. Quality tool at an exceptional price.

The diagram of my septic system said the septic tank is 17 feet from my house. I dug around for a day and found nothing. Then I got this probe and found the tank 6 feet from the house within 10 minutes of poking around! Wish I knew about these probes before, this one works great and is good quality (sturdy and handle grips or good)

Product quality is good however seller should consider protecting the foam handles when shipping as the product was shipped in a bag which had tears or slice marks in the bag which went through on the foam handles causing splits in the foam
