Strong cleaner that works well for tougher jobs I bought this household ammonia mainly for heavier cleaning tasks around the home, and it’s been very effective on things like greasy surfaces, stubborn marks, and general deep cleaning. A small amount goes a long way, so the 500ml bottle lasts longer than expected. It cuts through grime well and is especially useful for jobs where standard sprays struggle a bit. I’ve used it diluted for cleaning kitchen surfaces and outdoor bits and pieces, and it leaves things looking noticeably fresher. The smell is quite strong, as you’d expect with ammonia, so good ventilation is definitely needed while using it. Gloves are also worth wearing if you’re using it for longer cleaning sessions. Overall: A powerful, reliable cleaner for tougher household jobs. Not something you’d use casually every day, but very useful to have in the cupboard when you need a stronger cleaning solution.

Ammonia has a multitude of household uses and in the battle for cleanliness it is peerless. However, it is also touted as a panacea for other ills, such as deer and cat deterrent. As far as deer goes it works, a cotton ball soaked in ammonia and placed on a stick will deter deer. Not so for cats. So, if you're considering buying for this purpose.... DON'T. Unless you like cats !!

Dilute with 8 parts water and spray your snails!

Stick your oven shelves and metal tray that come with the oven, in a black sack, add the amonia, leave overnight, and hey presto, sparkling oven shelves once more! Absolutely no scrubbing needed.(Just don't inhale when using, and if you can, wear goggles too!)
