Classy product.
What a stunning looking Soundbase, the brushed aluminum gives it a very classy look.It is very large and heavy and appears well built. the remote is also brushed aluminum and is large and well laid out, a pleasant change from the all black remotes that dominate the TV and audio products.Very easy to setup although the HDMI led to some serious head scratching when trying to get mine to communicate with my Samsung TV.Got it sorted and I have to say the sound quality is impressive, but is slightly lacking in the bass department. The status LED which is viewed through the front grill is very small and very difficult to see, it displays different colours depending on the input selected, but some colours are difficult to distinguish, some sort of digital display would be far better.Overall I am very happy with my Soundbase.

Good at this price & well built.
Got this for small cinema room and didn't want to go full surround speakers. Once upon a time it was £350 now £80!! 4 hdmi in & 1 hdmi Arc out, nice. 4k pass through, nice. Well built, looks bullet proof. Sounds crystal clear but that bass is lacking but a sub can be added. Giving it a workout to bed in those speakers, time will tell. For £80 bargain, if it was £350 it would be going back & I'd be having Dolby Atmos for that price.

Really good sound but emits a really anoying low volume buz/tone when in standby
Really nice and well built kit, lots of inputs more that you will ever need.not tried the blutooth input but assume it workstwo negatives, when in standby it emits a low volume tone from the box which is a bit annoying when you notice it but it is really low in volume, weird thing is its not there when not in standby....Second thing the remote is huge! far too big for what it needs to be, the volume control is not where you think it is so when you try to change the volume you are actually changing the bass, can't turn power off from sat remote, amazon remote or tv remote!

Ok for the money, audio enthusiasts look elsewhere.
Good connectivity, not terrible sounding certainly some bass in there and a good package for the money, but not one I'd recommend to an audiophile.Sound quality:On the face of it this is a standard soundbase for not a lot of money, one thing that frustrates me however is the audio dipping in-between dialogue, making low background music or ambient noise all but disappear on quiet scenes with dialogue, with no way of turning off.For some reason it seems to be worse for netflix than others, and if you have it loud less of an issue altogether. Sometimes it's not an issue like for sport and most TV, however drama and netflix series seem to suffer more.Using HDMI created a high pitched noise which was annoying, I instead use with an optical cable connected to a TV which works fine, as does the line in which I use for Chromecast audio but could also connect to a TV.Functionality:Plenty of connections, buttons on the front right that do similar thing to the remote, which is metal like the soundbase and looks smart. Only one led light as an indicator however does make this difficult to switch inputs and alter audio, as there isn't much confirmation as to what you're doing. At around £80 it's sort of hard to grumble as it does get loud and clear and is a definite improvement over any TV audio, however had I not chucked the packaging when I got it, I would have returned this product.I would also echo people expecting big bass look at a soundbar and sub or more expensive soundbase, this has bass and enough for most TV programmes, but it's not blockbuster boomy bass.

Underwhelming
Bought this as a replacement for a very basic Onkyo 5.1 system (HTX-22HDX) which was long in the tooth and involved too many wires, I wanted to simplify things. Sadly, I am disappointed with it so it's going back.Good points:Looks good, robust, lots of connections (especially HDMI, which is rare), decent chunky remote.Bad point:1. Really disappointing sound. Lacking in any significant bass, so much so I've often wondered if it is actually on and have had to put my ear next to it to make sure. The three sound modes, to my ears, don't improve things. I get no sense of width on the movie mode. Tested it across two HDMI devices (Tivo & PS4) and bluetooth (iPhone) and the results are the same - thin and underwhelming sound. On the PS4 some of the “explosion” sounds on a game were distorted. The bass and treble controls don't make a huge amount of difference either. My Roberts radio has a fuller sound and it's tiny in comparison.2. No automatic HDMI switching when connected units are switched on/off.3. You can't use your tv / cable / satellite remote to change the volume on HDMI connections.4. The only display is a series of different coloured lights indicating which connection is active. Changing volume, treble and and bass just flashes the lights until you reach the upper and lower limits, after when the lights stop flashing.Shame, as it looks really good and seems really well made. To my relatively untrained ears and given the supposed power (100w) it sounds underwhelming.

Solidly built unit with great performance!
Fantastic value for money! This was easy to set up and was very well packed. My only minor criticism is of the tiny LED light indicating the mode that the unit is operating in. I used this to replace a home theatre system as I wanted to get rid of the wires going around the room and I am very happy indeed with the much neater appearance of this unit which easily supports our 40 inch tv. I am also very happy with the sound, but a subwoofer can be added if extra deep base is required.

Great Sound and Easy Set-Up
Excellent bit of hardware. Hardly any installation time required. Was up and running within 2 minutes of opening the box. Easy to use and stylish looking remote. Brilliant sound quality, although if you want a little more oomph from explosions during action movies etc, you will need to hook up a separate subwoofer. But for most, the bass is adequate. Brilliant value for money overall.
