JellyBeadZ Clear Magic Waterpipe Water Beads...BeadZ Only

These will even work in a non-perc mini bong. I put some into my 5 inch mini and found they help to keep the bong clean. Fun to watch them grow.

These super-absorbent beads work as expected. Be mindful: they're no different than other absorbent beads used to hydrate plants, etc. They're affordable and can be used for identical purposes, so I give them 5 stars. Take care to use them properly in a water pipe, however. There are MANY pipes worth of beads in this small package, so you will only need to hydrate a very small amount for the desired results. I strongly recommend you fully saturate only 20-30 of them with water in a large, open food bowl overnight before inserting them into any pipe. There's no reason NOT to do this. Also be aware that tar is likely to collect on these beads immediately (and permanently) after using them in a pipe, so don't expect them to be "clear as crystal" for more than one use. Their tar-collecting properties should persist for many uses, however. I do recommend reusing them (it's a waste not to, unless you want to pay a fortune to constantly replace them!) On a different note, I'm skeptical that these beads provide a radically different smoking experience compared to plain water, but their discoloration does suggest some degree of filtration.

Not really impressed. I don't see any kind of difference, other than adding a new look. I don't feel the smoke is cooler. And I don't see the beads getting dirty. But they are fun to add.

I'm just shocked by the number of negative reviews about this product in every color it comes in. Are all of you totally illiterate or what?It's hard to fathom just how ignorant you have to be to ignore the listed directions here and written directly on the package.If you want traditional diffuser beads to use in a water pipe, you're looking for something slightly smaller then a pea and made of hard plastic.These are tiny jelly like specks that absorb water and increase in size several times but can still be used in water pipes once they've expandedTo reiterate, If you put these directly into your piece without soaking them first, it WILL break!!Submerge them in water for 6-8 hours as directed, let them swell up to the size of a small marble, THEN put them in making sure to check that the beads won't clog any air intakes.

I love love love these. Just follow the directions and you will have no problems with this product. I did read somewhere that you can freeze them. While it makes for a really great smoking experience at first, freezing these beads will cause them to break down and then you have globs of gooey plastic all over the place. I still give this product 5 stars. I use these in this old waterpipe that I have which has no diffusion aside from stem to water with a pull carb. These guys make my old piece awesome. Try em!

Used Jelly Beadz for a week in various water pipes and had no noticeable performance difference to not using them. I have gone back to using airsoft BBs.Also had a number of jelly beadz that were able to make their way into a perculator and expand further and now are trapped in the piece.

MUST HAVE COMMON SENSE. So many people use this product incorrectly. The most effective way to use these smoking water beads is to put a bunch in a bowl of water overnight to soak, then fill your water pipe to the desired level with beads before adding a small amount of water to help the beads bounce when pulled (inhaling). This creates great diffusion as the surface space the water beads creates smaller bubbles. The clear ones are barely noticeable unless you like to add a drop of food coloring to your water pipe like i do in which case there are clear circles bouncing in the water. Also the beads work great at collecting tar and keeping your water pipes clean.

So this was the first time I've ever used a product like this in a glass waterpipe. I've seen these things a little here and there and heard they're nice when you want to diffuse smoke and get a smooth draw. Personally I don't think these are all they're cracked up to be to improve the quality of your smoke, but they most certainly increase surface area to diffuse smoke and catch tar. Plus it's kinda fun to watch the beads jump all around in a waterpipe ;) Also, be aware you will not need nearly as many beads as you think...they do enlarge quite a bit over 24hrs!
