Review: Good value fits well - I bought this for my 08 xl1200n. Matched the rest of the blackout on the nightster. I have HD saddle bags and the only problem I had was the front bolts were short. Even switched to the longer ones. Removed the reflector bracket, can't see with bags anyway, everything fell into place! I guess the bags made the difference. Overall pleased with the style and quality. Wish the latches were metal and not plastic πŸ™„. ## Features - FITMENT - The sissy bar with cushion pad is compatible with 2004-later Harley Davidson XL models (excluding 2016-up XL1200CX), as well as 1996-2000 XL1200C and XL1200S. I don't like the really tall bars and I wanted something that matched the aesthetic of my 48. This sissy bar checked all the boxes and was a great price on top of that! The only issue is there is no instructions with the bar and it is pretty easy to figure out on your own but I like to research EVERYTHING before I touch my bike. There are not very many tutorials out there on how to install these. The bolts that come with the bar do NOT work with the stock nuts and "flap" on the Sportster. You have to use the nuts that come with the bar. This is not a problem on the front part but I am a little uneasy with the bolts on the rear part as they stick out a bit towards the tire. Probably fine but just makes me nervous. I would probably recommend putting some blue loctite on the bolts as well. Also the rear taillights really do not like this bar and you have to take off the lens caps before installing the bar. Putting the caps back on with the new bolts was a little tricky for me. But after installing the bar looks AMAZING and I love how minimalist and aggressive it is. Also love the fact that I can just pop it off when I want to. ## Frequently Bought Together - ECOTRIC Detachable Sissy Bar Passenger Backrest Compatible with 2004-Up Harley Sportster XL883C 883R XL1200R 1200C 1200S XLH883 XLH1200 Motorcycle Backrest W/Cushion Pad - HDBUBALUS Motorcycle Foot Pegs Rear Passenger Footpegs Foot Rests Pedal & Mount Fit for Harley Sportster Iron XL 883 1200 Forty Eight Seventy Two 2014-2022 - WOWTK Passenger Pillion Seat fits for Harley 2016-2022 Sportster Iron 883 XL883N Models,Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/104611805-detachable-sissy-bar-backrest-compatible-with-2004-up-harley](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/104611805-detachable-sissy-bar-backrest-compatible-with-2004-up-harley) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
