How do you install it to get it watertight? Looked for youtube videos - no luck!

The fitting itself is watertight. If its not, its defective. Once you push the pipe into this fitting you will feel it "pop" or "slip" into the seat where it becomes watertight. If its sitting right, you should not be able to pull this pipe out, nor should there be any leakage from it.

Can you control the speed of water flow through this valve?

I don't see why not. For my use, it's only open or closed. You would actually be controlling the amount of flow not the speed.

Does this value have or require a california proposition 65 warning for california residents? thanks!

Prop65 applies to any material, the warning is required even if a trace amount of over 1000 substances from the Prop65 list maybe present. We have the warning on our bags to comply with the requirement of the Prop65 regulation for “clear and reasonable” warning.

Does this work with 1/4 in drip irrigation tubing?

I used it with a 1/4" pex line for a fridge filter not totally sure about the irrigation line, you can try it out for a test before installing to be sure. A good sharp tubing cutter will help for a better seal and fit. Good Luck
