DeckWise Drill & Drive Tool for Pre-Drilling, Countersinking & Driving Decking (Hardwood, Composite, PVC, Pressure Treated)

I wanted to pre-drill and countersink the holes in my deck boards to prevent splitting. This tool worked great for drilling and countersinking the holes at the same time. I used two drill one for the drill countersink tool and one with a bit driver. It worked great and help speed up the job I did not have to keep swapping drill and countersink end with the bit end.

5 stars for the price. purchased to install a large Camara deck. makes the process much easier. easy to adjust the countersunk depth and works well. would highly recommend if installing a deck using counter sunk screws send or hidden deck clips from deckwise. you could probably purchase similar elsewhere but why waste time looking when it's right here and you know it works.

It is a better option than buying multiple 3/8" countersinks and star drive bits. However, it has some drawbacks First. the collet design has a lot of play in it which has the potential to make some sloppy countersink holes if you don't have a steady hand. Second, in IPE, the sharpness of the drill bit and countersink drop off sharply after 15-20 holes. This resulted in the bit snapping off in a hole. Fortunately for me, I had already drilled a 1/8" pilot hole and was able to push the broken piece out. So consider drilling pilot holes using another plain drill bit.On the positive, you do get 3 complete sets of countersinks and drill bits.Buy more than one of these for your deck .I haven't tried the star drive bits set. Today was my first day using the tool.

qorks OK , but is a pain to keep switching over from drill to screw. It's easier & faster to just use 2 dewalt cordless guns

Well made and a valuable tool that will save you a LOT of time. I found it a must need for larger projects

Don't buy this. Just use 2 drills and 2 proper bits instead. It will save you a lot of headache. These T15 driver bits are cheap and twist easily. I resorted to using 2 drills loaded with a Kobalt 1/8" bit and a Milwaukee T15 impact bit. Put down 900 Sq ft of hardwood decking on 1 drill bit and 2 T15 drivers. I didn't make it down one 1 board with the included T15.

Used this to drill and face screw the edging on Teak decking. The key to this tool is minimal pressure-let the tool do the workI had no problems for 200 holes. I did break one bit (see above-learning curve for me to let the tool do the work). 3/8 tapered plugs worked perfect with the counter-bore bit. I ,used two drills for the job-one to drill, and one to drive the screw.

Great set to use to install decking and Ipe siding.
