They rip bag liners but there are more like a tarp material. They hold up well against cats that can't quite figure out how to cover their poop without scratching at the sides of the box for what feels like an eternity. You can get a lot of mileage out of these depending on how you want to maintain your cat box area. I used to change them every month - even washing them out to reuse liners because they held up so well. But, I gave that up due to laziness and now just rotate them out when I need to. I prefer this Liner Type because the high walls help with my one cat's high peeing stance. Usually no leakage, unless a cat really dug into the material - which has only happened once or twice in over a year. Price is fine for what you are getting.
