Objective2 + ODAC Headphone Amplifier/DAC

First I'd like to share a correspondence with Mayflower Electronics Support (Tyler) "I recently purchased an Objective2 + ODAC Headphone Amplifier/DAC. The purchase was made on Amazon. The unit arrived with a defective power supply. Upon unboxing, the unit would not power on. I thought the unit was defective and notified Amazon I would be shipping it back for a refund. While packing it up for return I was curious if it could be the power supply. A test of the power brick with a volt meter proved there was no voltage output. I then tried a universal power supply with the same specs... the ODAC Headphone Amplifier/DAC worked as should. Would it be possible to request a working power supply to replace the defective unit so as not to process the return process." Reply from Tyler: "Sure thing would be more than happy to send out a new unit, can you shoot me over your address?" I received the new power supply two days later. I am now happily enjoying using the Objective2+ Caveat: The power supply bundled is sourced from a third party manufacturer / distributer and by no means reflects the quality control, and multi step verification process that Mayflower checks their products by before shipment. Most importantly... ***Please do not attempt to use any power supply other than the one provided with the unit as irreparable damage may occur should the power supply not be spec'd similarly.*** Product review: To date I have prchased both the Objective2 + ODAC Headphone Amplifier/DAC and Objective2 Headphone Amplifier (no dac) I have paired both products to Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 ohm & DT 990 Pro 250 ohm, as well as bookshelf speakers. The output wattage of the units drove my equipment most handily, far exceeding my expectations. (this should read hearing damage can occur at highest volumes) Now volume isn't everything, sound quality is paramount! The Objective2 + ODAC Headphone Amplifier/DAC delivered clear crisp unadulterated sound. The signal to noise ratio that the amp/dac provides... nothing scientific here, but to my ears is phenomenal. The normal background 'hiss' that comes across from a computers onboard sound cards, cell phones and other audio output sources was not present. Clearly attributed to the chip quality of the internal DAC of the Objective2 +. Since the sound output is clean it can/ will be shaped by an equalizer to derive the sound a listener wishes. In fact the audio output will be influenced by the headphones / speaker profile itself. Much the same can be said for the Objective2 + Headphone Amplifier (no DAC) the amplification is on another level! Now mind you, as strictly an amplifier it will increase the output of the audio source multifold, but the addage 'gabage in - garbage out' .... the outputted sound quality is solely reflective of the source input. Rating: A+ The unit is of exceptional quality and the level of customer support is exemplary!

Got this for my DT 1990s and they work great! No issues connecting it to my PC other than changing the audio output quality, it has instructions so I was able to figure it out with them. Would defiantly recommend it!

Positives: +It sounds pretty well (maybe 4/5 star sound quality, especially with certain DaC type audiophile music software and hardware conneted). My music is clearer overall. + Multiple options for volume control and enhancement as well, which is super helpful for some of today's best [non open-back/closed] headphones. Negative -- The manufacturur - Mayflower Electonics* - left out three key required component cables to actually operate the unit. I therefore I had to use cables from my other electronic devices for the power supply, the usb connection (And the subsitute I found from another device only fits loosely), and for the dual audio /aux type cables required and had to purchase a new one. *According to Mayflower, these components were actually supposed to ship but they had a shipping problem, due to a new shipper who repeatedly left the cables out numerous times. However, that doesn't solve the issue this irresponsibility left for me and the lack of cables.

This is a really good amp. It gives off a neutral, non colorized true to headphone/earphone sound. These can be the end all for an amp that gives out the true sound of your headphones/earphones.
