All of our insects are hand raised or from sustainable sources such as butterfly farms and aviaries. People in third world countries are cutting down the forest to plant mass crops, which are more profitable than what the natural land provides. By creating a market for insects as artwork and educational specimens we are giving them motivation to maintain the insect populations and their natural habitats. Your purchase helps prevent extinction and support the fight against deforestation and habitat destruction worldwide. Please note that the size of the specimen and frame is shown in centimeters via the ruler in the photo of this listing. If you would like more than the quantity available in the listing please message me to let me know as I most likely have additional stock. The front of the frame is glass, the back is solid black, and it comes with a sawtooth hanger so it can be hung on a wall. There is a layer of cotton inside the frame to hold the specimen in place so it will not shift or break during transit. The specimen is not glued in permanently so the frame can be opened and the specimen removed if you wish to reframe, photograph, or use it for some other purpose. There are pins holding the lid to the frame in place. Take the pins out of the sides and carefully lift the lid off to remove the specimen.

Really nice moth
This is a small specimen, so don't think those are inches on the ruler. However, this is a very pretty moth specimen. Nothing broken or damaged. The box comes with a hanger you can put on the back if you want to hang it. This is a great starter piece for someone beginning a pinned bug collection. Obviously you can move the moth into another frame, but I think it works really well for the price. I want to see what else this company has available! Shipped quickly and packaged nicely. Highly recommended!

*Not What You Think You Are Looking For*
Don't buy these. They aren't horrible, but just don't.I'm not returning them, because I didn't pay over $60 for each of them, and that is far less than an hour's worth of my time packing them up, filling forms, driving them to the UPS store, driving home, etc...The truth is:1- They're not pinned & framed with wood & glass, they're in a black box with a cellophane front. Essentially a bug in a jewelry box.2- Behind them, when viewing from the cellophane window, is off-white cotton batting. Not a nice, white or black board backing onto which the specimens are pinned.3- They're not easily hangable. They come with zigzag hanging hooks, but I'm not sure how a black jewelry box - or a cluster of them, for that matter - would look hanging on the wall as "art".Thumbs WAY down.

absolutely beautiful
I recently bought a pinned moth from BicBugs as a Christmas gift for my daughter, (she loves Moths). It is so beautiful. The pics on amazon didn't do it justice. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone looking for amazing pieces. Lovely
