I'll be honest I'm a very picky person, this is the third sterling silver chain I've purchased from amazon, and before that I ordered 2 from theMjewlers (spent about 100 for those two) , This by far is the BEST chain I could have purchased. I wear it every day and only take it off when I shower just incase, however after I'd say after 3 months or so it still looks brand new! I sleep in it, doesn't make my skin darker or green, and only I take it off during my shower but I've also purchased a bracelet from this seller and I never take it off and so far still looks brand new aswell and that one definitely in the shower so who knows about the necklace. Either way this is after 3 months of use and from someone who looks high and low for a good quality chain, personally I don't buy without reading the reviews and if you're picky like me then maybe this will help! This is affordable, durable, beautiful and most of all reliable!

I bought this 20" necklace purely as an experiment. (I'm getting this for myself, but this length can be worn by most men.) Because of the current horrific price of gold today (2019) the cost of solid gold jewelry is becoming beyond most people's reach. Currently, this is the second highest price per ounce of gold in recorded history!) I can't speak for others, but I shop on Amazon to SAVE $$$! There is a LOT of gold plated jewelry on the market today, but it varies tremendously in quality. All I want is a standard 10K - 14K gold "look", that looks real and won't rub off after several wearings--the number of layers applied to the base metal (often silver, but sometimes bronze or brass) makes a real difference as to how the item will stand up to regular use. Real gold is durable and doesn't tarnish or corrode--if a piece begins to look dark or "grungy" after a few wearings, it's poor quality gold plate. This chain looks good right out of the box, but I'm going to wear it frequently until I see how it performs...once I settle on a reliable company, I'll know where to go for gold-over. I have several good gold pendants that really need a better-looking chain, so we'll se how this works. So much of our jewelry today--even designer stuff--is made in China anyway. Why "reward" shabby workmanship? There are other foreign nations that have a tradition of fine craftsmanship and I wish we'd see more attention paid to this. Many modern jewelry companies today use, "Made in the USA" as a selling point (Also, there's a tremendous mark-up in cosmetics, fashion and jewelry...so even on sale, they're making good money!) BTW--always SELL gold and silver items that are broken and/or unwanted; most jewelers and many websites exist where you can sell your precious metals. That way, the material can be recycled, and everyone benefits.

Although this rope necklace is not very wide, it seems well made and quite strong. It's comfortable even if it's only 14 inches. The bail is small but hefty so I can thread different charms and pendants on it. The price was right too!

I gave it 3 stars as the length is good and the design is nice. However, it looks more like the nickel plated stuff you would find in Target, Walmart, or Kmart - very light and bright. It's brighter than the silver pendant I have attached to it. I've worn this once and for sterling silver, it feels rather light weight for a chain this size. The clasp doesn't function easily as it wouldn't open on the first few attempts. I am thinking this clasp might not last long. The chain serves it's purpose for now, but I will look for a better quality product to match my better quality pendants.

Bought the silver one. Color was great. Felt nice and comfortable and light. Not itchy, and I have sensitive skin. I like the clasp type as well. Good thickness for stringing multiple trinkets.

A light, strong necklace with a delicate, expensive appearance. Diamond cut provides a unique quality to its look...can be worn casually or formally.

I have no idea why this only has 4* average. The quality-to-price ratio of this chain is legendary. It has a lobster clasp and looks like a true, deep 18K gold (even though its plated). It's GORGEOUS - you won't be disappointed.
