I purchased this product to stream karaoke from my laptop (via youtube and specific karaoke software) to my TV. Previous products I have used in the past lacked the mixer function to add microphone sound directly to the computer stream, but the Rybozen takes care of it with no issues. The picture is crystal clear, the sound of the microphones is very good, and the volume control does the trick. There's no way to modulate the microphone input if you're plugging in extra mics into the unit, so if you add more mics you need another mixer or volume control on your additional mics. Pros: Easy to setup, easy to use, great video quality, good sound quality Cons: No volume control for external microphone hookups Recommended setup for no microphone lag: Laptop >>>(HDMI)>>> Rybozen Mixer >>>(HDMI)>>> Sound Bar >>>(HDMI)>>> TV From my experience, there's often some microphone lag when trying HDMI ARC (plugging directly from mixer to TV with external speakers). This is not due to issues with the Rybozen Mixer, but an issue where the TV is decoding the audio and video signals at different rates. Overall this is a great product for people wanting to use their computers for karaoke!

I was looking for a way to do karaoke with a minimum of fuss and found it with this product. I didn't see anything else out there quite like this. I have a bunch of sound gear and so can set up a killer karaoke configuration if I want, but it takes up space and has too much complexity for other family members. When I set it up, it doesn't get used. It would be a pain to take to someone else's house. There are karaoke machines that are pretty self-sufficient, but they are expensive and they have speakers that take up space, etc. I didn't want this. I also didn't want to be chained to one vendors karaoke catalogue. With the Rybozen all you do is plug your laptop/phone into the box and the box into your TV using HDMI cables. That's it. There are other configurations you can use, but this one is the simplest. With this set up you get: - Singers can read lyrics off laptop and face audience. - Audience can read lyrics off TV. If singing on your own you can use either screen. - Sound comes out of whatever you have set up for your TV. - Karaoke source comes from whichever catalogues you want on your laptop/phone. - Two mics give you duet capability out of the box. - Wireless mics give you mobility and less clutter. - The box gives you control over the relative volumes and allows you to add a little echo for effect and to control tone. - Take up minimal space and could easily be taken to a friend's house. - Much cheaper than more elaborate set ups. - This is just one way of using the Rybozen. There are many others. It is a very flexible unit. Others have complained about lagginess. With this set up, there is an almost imperceptible lag between singing and hearing the sound come back. This is actually excellent performance given all the mixing that the box is doing. It's a non-issue. In fact, it's a plus that there is so little lag, especially given the quality of the mics and the mixing. I wouldn't even mention this except that it's an issue that others have commented on. I have not tried connecting the box in other ways, so am commenting specifically on the set up I described. There are many ways of setting up this box. In fact, it would be an excellent way to add a couple of wireless mics to a speaker to create an informal PA system, which would be nothing to do with karaoke. Because of this open-endedness you might have some confusion about which configuration to use. I use the one I described. Another simple one, if you don't need the TV, would be to connect your laptop/phone audio out into the audio in on the box and connect the audio out from the box to audio in on your sound system. I had a minor issue with the transaction. The seller, Kedok, bent over backwards to help me and was generous and responsive. Thank you Kedok - six stars! I wrote this review after a couple of weeks of using the system multiple times and will update if time changes anything.

This brand this brand new item arrived with a broken knob that was not glued on, and one of the microphone labels was also already coming off. Had to use my own glue - it feels surprisingly cheap for such a highly rated item.

Good value and good for decent home karaoke entertainment. Use couple times and so far so good. My set up is simple, utilizing the Bluetooth functionality mostly: - Firetv (hdmi) -> tv (hdmi) for video - Firetv (Bluetooth/transmitting) -> this mixer (Bluetooth/receiving) for audio, pairing is very simple from Fire TV - This mixer (aux) -> klipsch “the fives” powered speaker (aux) Pros: small and sleek. I am not an audiophile but do have some standard when it comes to audio, so would say it provides reasonable audio quality for both music and vocal. You will need to adjust and balance the music vs vocal volume control for the best outcome. I only use Bluetooth vs aux so far and it works flawlessly, didn’t test hdmi. The tone control does “tone” and “sharpen” your vocal but also makes your voice “thin” and not real but that’s okay and expected for average home karaoke. Did not notice any lag as someone mentioned here. Cons: Not really notice anything big, except some hum, echo feedback when someone sings with a low voice. The output jack and aux cable don’t look like in good quality and a bit loose

I play the Native American style flute, and I perform concerts from time to time using a lot of backing tracks that are stored on my phone. My previous setup was to plug my wired microphone into my speaker, and then use bluetooth to send the backing tracks from my phone into the same speaker. The problem with this was that my backing tracks all had different volume levels, and I would have to adjust the volume on my phone (which is on a tripod next to me when I perform). I couldn't have someone adjust the volume on the speaker, because that would adjust the volume of my flute playing into the wired mic as well as the volume on the backing track. So ... I was looking for an audio mixer that would have separate volume controls for my wired microphone and for my backing tracks. Most of the audio mixers and karaoke machines I looked at had only a master volume control that would simultaneously adjust mic volume and backing track volume -- so I was very happy when I found this product. Here's my setup now with this audio mixer. Because the mixer has bluetooth, I connect my phone to the audio mixer instead of directly to my speaker. Then I use an aux cable to connect the "aux out" on the mixer to the "aux in" on my speaker. That takes care of the backing tracks, and I can have another person sit by the audio mixer to adjust the big "Music" volume dial as needed for the different backing tracks. For my flute playing, I connect my wired microphone directly into one of the two microphone jacks on the front of the audio mixer. I set the volume dial for that microphone at a given level and leave it there for the entire concert, since I don't need volume adjustments for my flute playing. I also set the "echo" dial at a certain level for my flute playing into the wired microphone, but the echo has to be turned all the way down when I talk into one of the hand-held microphones that comes with this audio mixer. I do wish there were separate echo dials for the wired microphone and the hand-held microphone!! (NOTE: If the wired microphone is plugged into the "mic 2" jack on the front of the mixer, then you have to use the blue hand-held microphone that connects with the "mic 1" volume dial.) I would have been happy to just find an audio mixer that had separate volume controls for my backing tracks and my flute playing, but the addition of the hand-held microphones is a plus for me. (One mic would have been enough for my needs.) I do some talking between the songs I play, and my wired microphone is set at a lower height than my face because that's where the flute's sound hole is. So in the past, I had to bend down to speak into the wired microphone. Now I can just grab the hand-held mike when I talk, and remain upright! The volume for the hand-held mic can be controlled separately from the volume for the wired mic, and the volume can stay at a given level thoughout the concert. There are two things that would make this product even better. First, as I mentioned earlier, I wish there were separate "echo" dials for mic 1 and mic 2, since I use one mic for flute playing and the other for talking. Secondly, it would be really nice if the big "Music" volume dial had numbers written around the outside so that you could establish a specific numeric volume level for each backing track in advance, and have that written down on a sheet for the person who is running the audio mixer. Overall, this is a great product for my purposes. Even though it was kind of pricey at $100, I'm glad I bought it.

We bought this hoping to get a better experience using Apple Music Sing but with an external mic instead of using the phones as mics. Setup: From AppleTV->HDMI->output to Rybozen HDMI input From Rybozen->HDMI->output to TV input The set up works - the AppleTV sound output goes through this 'mixer' and then out to TV. The wireless microphones can be used to sing along the music that's being played through AppleTV. CONS The microphones are very cheap. As someone who's had a bit of prior sound/mixer board experience, you'll notice the sound that comes out of this unit is very shallow. Even with echo increased, it just sounds poor. My next step is to try to get a wired Shure mic and see if the sound quality increases. If not , then i'll have to return this unit.

I like to host karaoke nights at my home which I run through my PC attached to our living room TV and AVR, and I use YouTube for the songs. Traditionally, I would plug a microphone into the PC; however, this causes a distracting audio delay, so I went searching for better solutions. I tested three solutions: this system which plugs right into my existing setup, a big stand alone karaoke speaker, and an Ikarao system that I jerry-rigged to work basically the same as this Rybozen. I then tested all three both by recording myself tapping the microphone of each system to objectively measure the delay and in actual use of singing karaoke. I am very pleased that this Rybozen came out on top in every possible way. In my initial set-up, I plugged my PC into HDMI in and ran HDMI out to my receiver where my PC would normally be plugged into. Right out of the box with that set-up, the delay was significantly improved, and in my experimenting, was the least delay of all my options including the designated karaoke machine with its own speaker. I further tweaked it by running the aux cables into the receiver for the audio (I'm using a Denon AVR that supports a separate Audio In for all inputs, you have to tweak the AVR settings to instruct it to override the HDMI audio signal), and that made the delay almost non-existent. Even before my testing, this was my favorite. It was the simplest option easily plugging right into my existing setup. It is also significantly cheaper than other karaoke solutions. I love the simplicity of the five dials to cover Music volume, Mic volume, Echo, and Treble making it super simple to adjust these on the fly as people are singing. In actual use, the microphones were also my favorite of the three. They come with optional foam covers which help reduce the plosives, and overall felt the most like a real microphone (the Ikarao comes with these stick microphones that feel like you're holding a baton). Overall, if you're looking for something portal, or you don't already have a home setup where you just need to plug in some wireless mics, you may want to go in the direction of an Ikarao (which came in second in our ranking). But if you're trying to run karaoke through a receiver and basically use your own AV equipment, this Rybozen is a no-brainer. Nothing else comes close to it.

After receiving a purchase request for a Karaoke machine (from my better half), I initially was pretty turned off by all of the "Color changing LEDs" type stuff on MOST of the Amazon Karaoke machines... which (to me) means the mfr focused more on "show" and less on function and Quality. Their small size also told me that their sound output was probably well below my "acceptable minimum". I had decided to use a small guitar powered speaker we have in order to get a decent full-range sound... and when I found this product, its versatility convinced me. One feature that I didn't remember reading was about the Bluetooth Audio Input... versus using a cable (either can be used). This allows the use of a spare Android tablet for the YouTube Karaoke videos "up close", and leaving this mixer and my speaker anywhere in the room we want to... without cables between. The wireless microphones work perfect, and I'm again... pleasantly surprised that they have automatic UHF channel assignment, ensuring no interference from anything else. The wired microphone input is another "plus", as it allows us to use a couple of professional dynamic mics we already had, if we feel the need to "upgrade". The Echo function works perfect, and really does help by increasing the "presence", and feel like you're part of the original recording, and not just a cheap voice-over. (it also helps hide imperfections of our singing!) Oh... and it even came with a set of AA Alkaline batteries for the wireless microphones... nice. Five stars! Hopefully it lasts a good while, but so far it has all the signs of a quality product that should last for years. (I've been an electronics product design engineer since the late 70's, so hopefully my experience has guided me to this :)
