IRWIN Vise-Grip Wire Stripper, 2 Inch Jaw, Cuts 10-24 AWG, ProTouch for Comfort, Blue (2078300)

This is an excellent wire stripper. I use it for 18 to 24 AWG wires and so far it has held up well. It is easy to adjust for these smaller wire gauges and gives excellent results without ripping off any strands of wire. The wire cutter part works OK too, but of course due to its location, it's not as easy to use as a dedicated wire cutter tool, but it will still cut your thinner wires without any difficulties. It is of excellent quality and it has held up well (so far).

I always thought these were kinda gimmicky. I had a ancient one superficially similar to this (individual die slots, same kind of action) and it never worked great, but several review videos persuaded me to try this one. Wow. From being able to gang-strip several wires at once and not nick the conductors to a little trick to peel a second spot on a wire to let me solder on a tap wire (always struggled with that before) and not having to think about wire size and carefully lay the wire into the appropriate groove, this seems like it's almost perfect. Quick, simple and and repetitive (with the strip gage/stop) to strip cords and individual wires. (It might struggle with the very short conductors needed for attaching cord plugs on heavy cords. but the only tool I ever found that did this well was an ancient T&B stripper that had the end of the pliers bent over at 90 degrees--sadly i broke it after about 30 years doing something dumb and can't find anything like it today.) This is thoughtfully designed to fit the hand (not open so wide it's hard to hold and operate), with comfortable plastic grips--smooth, nicely textured and some grooves. It has a large opening for wires/cables, and aggressive jaws to hold the jacket. I have no idea if the two cutting blades will wear (or really, how fast) or need to be replaced at some point. For the moment it's delivering nice clean cuts. (Same uncertainty about the enclosed mechanism that seems to control the cycle--if this wears will the thing degrade or stop working altogether? No idea. Hope not. This is trying to be my new favorite tool (but I have a short attention span.) The Cutter works but it's now one of a dozen so probably not going to get used a lot. The crimper is a little confusing but might be ok once i figure it out. Until then I have a couple of others that seem to be working fine. (located on the inside of the handles may be a bad idea for wire/terminal placement during crimping and for leverage but I haven't tested this function yet)

They’re my favorite automatice wire strippers. They strip the sheathing from multi strand wire, then they’ll strip the wires themselves. I do marine electrical, they’re the first ones I go for, and I’m disappointed if I have to use any others or if I’m in an area where I can’t use these. I’ve tried the harbor freight sets, the Milwaukee sets, and these are the best.

Been watching youtubers tell me to use this type of wire stripper for years. Finally got them, and they do not disappoint.

This wire stripper has saved me hours of work and wasted effort. The distance fence is nice to get consistent length stripping. The wire cutter in the handle is surprisingly convenient and sharp; I found myself using it more than regular wire cutters. I am able to cut and strip wires faster than someone can use the strippers with the sharp hole shapes, and save my wrists. Also, if you were in a cramped area where you need to contort your body, these automatic strippers keep you from bashing your knuckles when the insulation breaks free when your hand breaks away from the other.

I purchased this product after watching it's video on You Tube . I loved it esp as a DIY user . Now you need not struggle with wire stripping process and cutting is very clean and effortless. You can strip multiple wire easily. It's costly as it is imported from USA and not made in China
