If MSG is what you want -- and you want it in bulk -- this is for you. Personally I don't cook with it. My vet recommended it instead of costly pet store products. In a multi-dog household, it does away with that bad habit some dogs have of eating each others' poop. I sprinkle it on their food like a generous sprinkle of salt. Makes the poop taste bitter. It works! Vet says it doesn't harm the dogs in any way -- and that seems so to me. Have been using this for years and years on many dogs.

Don't believe what you hear, MSG is completely natural and safe, and has never been proven to cause headaches, etc.. It's sodium and an amino acid your body produces, and a third less sodium than salt. So if you're "allergic" to MSG, you're allergic to yourself. It's found naturally in tomatoes, mushrooms, etc., etc..

Awful. This stuff unlike every other MSG I've bought does not melt when cooked. So weird.

This stuff is great for adding a savory, rounded flavor to your food. I've used it in rice, soups, stews, steaks, and more. It's also great to add to the dry ingredients when making breads (in addition to the salt, not in place of it).

MSG is MSG, right? Yes and no. The ad copy says we get 5 pounds, so I expected a single 5 pound package not unlike a 5 pound bag of sugar. I got instead five 1-pound bags in thick plastic. I consider this better because the unopened bags will keep better. Also, shipping was fast for me - placed Wednesday evening and arrived the following Monday in a USPS Flat Rate padded Priority Mail envelope.
