I am an absolute beginner, when I got this set in was the first time I tried carving. From what I have seen and have used I find these to be great quality. The knives hold an edge very well, handles are comfortable in the hand for long carve sessions. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get started in the hobby.

Nice beginner knives. Definitely need sharpening and honing frequently, basswood would work, but I have random branches. … 🤗

These knifes are wicked sharp out of the box, and do a great job at maintaining that edge. So far I have only needed to use the strop. These knifes will last you a long time so long as you use them properly! I made the ignorant mistake of using the small finish knife way beyond it's designed use and messed up it's edge. So as long as you use it as it's designed it's an absolute 5 out of 5.

I’ve been so impressed by the quality of everything I’ve bought from this company, and will continue to purchase other things from them. The handles are perfect and comfortable to grip, and the blades are strong and SHARP!! I managed to get myself good the other day & needed SEVEN stitches in my hand 🤦🏻‍♀️ (that’s all on me for not sitting at my work table where I have better control lol whoops) So far I’ve used it on white oak and black cherry wood, and I’ve had no problems (like I have with other tools). I did end up buying another leather strop with the white sharpening compound, as the green compound this set comes with doesn’t really sharpen it but keeps it smooth. So I highly recommend purchasing that also, as I was shocked at how well and easily I was able to sharpen these knives as well as other tools I have!

While I probably should write more reviews than I do. This is literally the quickest I've ever decided to leave a review. I had these Beavercraft knives arrive not 10 minutes ago. I've had a working project that I had been working on with just a pocket knife. I did realize I like the hobby enough to give it a go. These were available with a coupon which made them almost $30 cheaper than Flexcut which is the next recommended knives after these. To me, that made it well worth trying these. I opened these up to test them on my project right away. The difference is absolutely astounding! To add to a cliche saying, they cut through the basswood blocks I have like WARM butter. Are there tools better than this? I have no doubt in that. Do you need to go all in to try a new hobby? Absolutely not. I've now used these for 10 minutes and am making better work on my project than I was previously with the pocket knife. With the other reviews saying this is a great place to start, they aren't kidding. Sets cheaper than these are filled with good reviews sure, but they are also filled with reviews talking about the lack of quality, sharpness, and other things to save what is really just a few dollars from this set. If you're interested in starting some wood whittling or carving and don't want to spend a ton. Start here.

I took away one star because the kit I ordered was supposed to have 3 different whittling blades in it, but it had 2 fine detail knives and no chip cutter. It didn't matter enough for me to bother with trying to return it, but it was a little disappointing. Before purchasing I had tried some whittling with an old lock blade pocket knife, and the difference these new blades make is amazing. I went from getting blisters and tired hands to actually shaping wood. They are easy to hold and cut very well. I already had some cut resistant gloves so I haven't used the protection tape included. The strop seems nice but I haven't used that yet. I would definitely recommend these as a solid but inexpensive starter set.

Un kit completo y sencillo para iniciarse y de calidad. Además de los cuchillos tiene también para afilar y protegerse los dedos de cortes. Tal como se ve en la imagen.

Mi sono avvicinato da qualche mese al wood carving e personalmente ho voluto iniziare da subito con buoni strumenti perché penso che cominciare con cinesate che non avrebbero dato buoni risultati mi avrebbe subito scoraggiato. Nel corso dei mesi ho voluto provare diversi marchi, ho usato Codega, Flexcut, e questo set BeaverCraft, credo che i marchi che ho citato siano tutti ottimi, ce ne saranno sicuramente altri ancora migliori e ben più costosi, ma credo che questo set sia davvero ottimo per chi si avvicina da zero all'intaglio del legno, sia come qualità dei coltelli ma soprattutto rapportato al prezzo. Il set comprende tre coltelli con cui è possibile fare gran parte dei tagli, soprattutto per chi è agli inizi, perché poi vi renderete conto man mano col tempo quali altri tipi di coltelli o sgorbie vi serviranno, e a questo prezzo, avrete un set di buona qualità con lame già ben affilate, l'impugnatura all'inizio non mi ha entusiasmo ma col tempo l'ho trovata comoda e mi ci sono adattato benissimo. Carino l'astuccio che contiene il tutto, e oltre ai coltelli c'è una striscia di "pelle" per tenere il filo dei coltelli e un piccolo blocchetto di pasta abrasiva (che ho trovato piuttosto secca e difficile da spalmare), e ho gradito molto che fosse presente anche un rocchetto di garza autoadesiva che vi renderete conto rivelarsi molto utile, e un paio di cerotti che ho avuto occasione di utilizzare molto presto 😅. Le cinque stelle non sono solamente per la qualità del set, perché ripeto, sicuramente ci saranno coltelli migliori di questi, ma questo set per rapporto qualità prezzo penso sia il migliore che ci sia

So far so good - no bloodshed ... yet. I am a rank beginner, but the knives were sharp (how sharp should they be) straight out of the box. I haven't tried the stropping leather yet but I expect it will do what it's meant to do. The knives are comfortable in my hand (adult male) and my 12-year-old said they felt comfortable in his hand as well. Not sure how they'd go if you have large hands? So far they seem to be doing a great job at shaping wood. I still have some skills to develop, but these are perfect for where I am now and into the foreseeable future.

I primarily love that it’s from a small business in Ukraine. And the tools are very sharp and very intuitive to use. Easy to maintain and nice to hold as the wooden handles don’t get cold or slip when you’re using them. The handle shape is very nice and the blades can handle a lot of pressure. I have made a bunch of utensils with this so I have not been disappointed. Can’t wait to get the drawknife from them next! I very much recommend the products this company carries after seeing these.
