I ordered this pillow for my father who is now confined to either a Lay-Z-Boy rocker or bed. As a result, he’s developed a major pressure sore on the edge of his gluteal cleft. This pillow has made a major difference! It’s lightweight for the caregiver, making it easy to carry, adjust position, and move (this is a huge bonus that you won’t understand until you’re a caregiver), and sturdy and purposeful for the user. My dad’s face lit up with excitement and relief when we first positioned him upon it. I gave the “softness” quality three stars because it’s not overly soft — it needs a moderate degree of firmness or the problem it’s meant to help will not be addressed — but that’s the perfect balance of cushiness and density necessary. I would definitely buy more products from this company based on the success of this one.

Item is Great. After using the donut for several days my spine and sciatica started to improve. I highly recommend trying this for pain relief if sitting is painful.Update:I am still using this. I take it with me in one of those free cheap nylon string back packs. It's a perfect fit. Also keeps the donut clean. I don't have to take it out and everyone doesn't have to see me carrying my donut around. LOL! But it takes pressure off the spine and provides more comfort when sitting. I highly recommend if you are suffering like I was. My sciatica has improved. I highly recommend this product because it is made well. Quality!! Cleans easy with a spong, soap and water. Great memory foam. I've had it for months and it remains it's shape. I weigh 160lbs. So you figure that's pretty good! I've been using it for about 4mo now. Bounces right back, doesn't flatten. It's a great ASSet to have! I think you'll be grateful you made the choice to buy it. Feel better!

Good for its purpose but pillow itself is hard.

Having tried out some other, much more expensive cushions, I'm very pleased with this. I play music, and one of my gigs calls for me to sit as I play, so I've sought out a good cushion for my stool. This one fits well, stays secure, and doesn't flatten out as most others do.This proves to me, that despite the claims for some of those cushions with very creative & cool-looking designs (& higher price tags), a lot of that is smoke & mirrors. In reading some reviews complaining of this cushion being "too firm", I had a feeling this just might be the one for me. I don't see how a cushion you're going to be sitting on for hours, will do much good, if it's not firm enough to keep from flattening out. Sitting on a soft pillow doesn't cut it, this does...

This cushion is comfortable for about the first half hour and then I begin to have the same pain I have without a cushion. If the hole in the middle were larger, I believe it would be more comfortable and work much better to relieve the pain. Every cushion I have ever bought has too small a hole in the middle. Yours is larger than most, but still not large enough.

I had surgery and needed a doughnut pillow. This pillow was harder than I thought it would be. Ironically, though, after a few minutes it ends up collapsing and putting pressure on my incision anyway. So it's both sort of hard (and first) and not firm enough (after a few minutes). I bought a second doughnut pillow made of regular foam, which also just flattens out pretty quickly. I put this memory foam pillow on top of the regular foam pillow and between the two of them it helps keep pressure off my incision site.However, this memory foam pillow has been very good in my car. I drive about a half an hour commute. It does great for that. It really depends on what is underneath it, how hard or soft, how it's contoured, etc. Because the seat in my car contours up on the sides a little, it creates a little more empty space in the middle. Whereas my chair at work is flatter and I need to add the second pillow under it there.Overall, I'm really glad I have it, even though I had to get creative and experiment a bit to make it work for me.
