Great battery life and overall product
Already had another baofeng radio (bf-f8hp) that came with a 1800mah battery. It was fine but I wanted more battery life and an overall slimmer radio.The battery in this UV5R fits perfectly the BF-F8HP, greatly increases the battery life of it, and it even comes with a barrel connector that I am able to use to charge the battery via USB charger. Not needing to carry the charging base in my car is a real life changer.Regarding the radio, the UV5R included here was easily unlockable, and I'm able to RX/TX on every band that it supports. Really good HAM radio.

Best amateur radio ever.
The baofeng UV-5R is the best amateur radio ever, range is awesome, easy to use, and specially this one the battery life is inmortal! (Saw what I did there?)... Special with the extended battery... The only thing I dont like is that this model does not have the normal size battery. Is usefull to have if you need a smaller device.PD: I have read that the uses of the baofeng radio is illegal in some countries. PLEASE check your regulations to avoid any issues.

Standard UV-5R. MUST BE FACTORY RESET TO TRANSMIT.
Pretty much a standard UV-5R. If you know, you know.In order to transmit on these radios you have to perform a factory reset, not a settings reset. There are videos on YouTube showing how it's done.

You get what you pay for
"I bought my first UB5R, but it wouldn’t power on, so I had to return it for a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement unit wouldn’t transmit either. It works well as a scanner, but if you’re expecting to transmit, you might be disappointed. Overall, not what I was hoping for."

One good item from China!!!
Extremely good battery life, very rugged in the 90's a dual band HT was $300-$450, not anymore! Many people say cheap Chinese junk....hmm I don't think they ever owned or used a UV 5R
