Q: I have flip it and the tank leaks everything looks Ok but the water squirts all over.

not only does the tank leak but it does not "pick" up all the water off of the hard wood floors. I am really disappointed inthe "flip--it"

Have you used anything else in the machine? The big drawback to the bissell is that nothing - vinegar, plain soap - except the Bissell detergent can be used, or something happens to the seals and the machine will no longer release the detergent. If that is the case, you need a new machine.

Q: what are the directions for use. do you use soap or detergent and how much water?

You buy a detergent made for this machine and add a small amount and fill the balance with hot water. The kind of detergent is not easily found in stores. I buy it online, Bissell Hard Surface Floor Solutions Formula. You fill the liquid container. You empty the other container that sucks up garbage and dirty water and rinse it out.

Q: which way is the filter inserted? with pleats towards the dirty tank or away from it?

Pleats go in toward the dirty tank.
