Easy to install and secure connections. They were also the right size for my amplifier connectors. Review: TOP QUALITY COPPER CONNECTIONS FOR YOU RIG - Copper is better than brass, simple fact. However, long ago somebody decided to use brass because it's more durable? This is about hifi neurosis not a month in Ukraine. Copper doesn't react to a magnet, all the terminals on Audioquest, Blue Jeans, even Mcintosh' $2,500 cables use flippin' brass terminals that stick to a magnet. Say farewell to all that fancy oxygen free copper you paid for as long as you start and end with a metal that's only 77% as conductive as copper. I've had the bare copper on a few pairs for several years here on the salty gulf coast, zero oxidation or any other issue that would suggest their age. The screws hold tight, haven't have any spades or bananas that came loose going from summer to winter over and over. If Blue Jeans could put these on their primo cables using their Star Trek laser welding gadget, I'd pay another $50. Highly recommended, Viborg is the only terminal used in my house with 3 (decent) audio rooms. I have these on AQ Rocket 88/44s and all other brands of cable I've bought over the years, I just removed the factory and put these on. Great low-cost audio hack that actually has science behind it.

TOP QUALITY COPPER CONNECTIONS FOR YOU RIG

Good speaker cable terminals
These terminals are really heavy duty and appear to be robust and well made. I had to make a modification to them because the opening in the fork didn't fit my speaker connection posts. Fortunately, I have a drill press and a vise with which I was able to open up the fork so it was more or less the same opening size. The stock part has a step in it where close to the throat or bottom of the fork the opening is a smaller size. As you move toward the exit of the fork, the opening is larger. Using it this way, the terminal was not stable in my speaker connection posts because the smaller opening was too small to fit over the post. But after opening it up so the whole fork was the same size it fit perfectly, no rocking or wobbling at all. So whether or not you need to do this will depend on the posts on your speaker. Since the terminal was so heavy (thick) it stood up to my drilling it out and didn't break. So a little work required but I'm happy with them.

Well-constructed, excellent performance
I purchased these spade connectors to replace some AdioQuest silver banana plugs which were constantly backing out from my speakers. I meant to purchase Viborg's all copper spade connectors but accidentally clicked on the rhodium plated ones. Rhodium, like gold, is resistant to oxidation but an even poorer conductor than gold (silver is best followed by copper). This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I marked off the contact area(s) of the spade connector and filed off the rhodium plating, exposing the reddish copper. The plating is extremely thin and easily removed. The benefit of this is the exposed areas of the spade connector remain plated. Best of all there was no loss of sound quality. These connectors are well constructed. If anything, they are thicker than they need to be. They won't bend, are definitely pure copper, and your speaker wire will never come loose. You can find more expensive ones. While they may look nicer, I doubt you will notice any difference in performance. If you want to save a few bucks get the non-plated all copper ones. Unless you're using your speakers outdoors, oxidation shouldn't be an issue.

Hi-Fi Bargain
I was setting up a new stereo system and found that my 12 gauge speaker wire would not fit through the binding posts on my amplifier. I trimmed off half the copper strands so I could make the connections and test the system and ordered these (gold plated copper). When they arrived, the first thing I noticed was that these babies are heavy and feel substantial. All of the copper strands from the 12 gauge wire easily fit into the connector. I was able to torque down the set screws with the supplied Allen wrench without stripping them. I heated up the shrink wrap sleeves over the connections with a lighter and hooked the speaker wires back up to my amp. They fit great on my binding posts. The result was professional looking connectors and what I perceived as better sound. (That could also be because I was now using all of the wire strands in my speaker cables.) Recommended.

Won't lock in place on speaker terminal post
These are hefty spade lugs. The speaker wires lock in place very well inside the lug using the supplied allen key, and the heat shrink provides further stability to the speaker wire inserted into the lug. The problem is that these will not lock in place on my tower speakers' terminal posts. No matter what I tried, a small movement of the speaker wire would loosen the spade off of the speaker terminal post. I tried these lugs on 2 sets of tower speakers (Paradigm and Revel). The lugs would never tighten properly. So these spade lugs are not fit for purpose, even though they seem heavy duty.

Fitted cables well, great finish, and with the shrink tubing gave a professional finish...

Lovely well made heavy duty spade style speaker connectors, solderless application, so just strip back the insulation and insert the fresh bare wire and tighten the two hex set screws with the supplied allen key. Add the heat shrink and away you go.

Nothing identifies these as genuine Viborg. Just an unmarked plastic bag with the spades. It's important to notice, there are countless generic brands that make spades exactly like this. Also, the quality of the finish, and the very poor quality screws that don't seem plated in Rhodium, rather an almost black finish, lead me to believe this might be generics. If this is the case, they are wildly over priced. Generic versions of this spade model can be purchase for 1-2$ a spade.
