Hifonics HFXR 2-Way/3-Way Active Crossover, Car Audio Crossover with Remote Bass Control

Today’s purchase is the HiFonics HFXR 3-way crossover. I have been using this unit for over 18 months and have used this unit in multiple applications. The features and specs are posted in the listing. I’m here to discuss the results, from the ease of installation, the roll of the slope, to the output of the line driver. I have the good, the bad, and the ugly of this product. The Good News is this unit is very reasonably priced compared to other units with similar features, and has name brand recognition. The unit is super easy to install, just three wires and plug in the RCAs. The unit can even run with just a single pair of RCA inputs and still function as a 3-way crossover, and use the remote bass gain as well. The crossover features a 1x and 20x frequency multiplier, allowing greater separation between mids and highs, while the subwoofer rolls off at 18 dB per octave on the low end. The increase in sound clarity is very noticeable. The Bad News is this unit is analogs, which means it has to be tuned manually, with multiple tools, to get it to where you want it. Tuning a system can be tiring, especially if you are like me and change stuff all the time. However, the improvements in sound quality just from adding this unit are totally worth it. The numbers on the unit are there to guide the set point, however the actual set point differs a little. That being said, this did not affect the frequency range of the crossover in any way, it just highlights the importance of using the proper tools to the unit precisely. The Ugly of it is, once you expose the unit to the elements, the chrome exterior is hard to keep clean between finger prints, smudges, dust, and debris, even when you are not touching the unit itself, it gets dirty. At this point, the unit has been going strong for the better part of two years, and it has not disappointed the entire time. At the time of purchase, the unit was priced to sell and it was an amazing deal. The unit was very easy to install and figure out functionally. The line driver and Butterworth high pass filters cut out unwanted frequencies, both high and low, not only improved sound quality, but reduced overall signal noise. The tuning process may be a little cumbersome, but the time and effort put into it are definitely shown in the results and performance of this device. I think that this unit works really well and is an amazing deal. Adding this unit is a fast and easy way to increase flexibility and improve overall sound quality of your stereo system. I would highly recommend giving this HiFonics HFXR a try.

Brought this item Hifonics HFXR - Crossover for a Father's Day gift and my fiance is thrilled with the quality and performance of the product. He states has great sound effects and has enjoyed good, quality music in his vehicle. I truly am satisfied with the product and highly recommend it!

It works amazing but lately I noticed that the power indicator led sometimes turns on and sometimes doesn't, I touch the led and it flickers on and off I think the solder joints broke but it still works besides the power led not working right.

I really liked how good this actually worked in my system for the price its worth every penny.

I finally after a couple tries got x over tuned in right and it sounded great but that only lasted for about a day . I spent the next day tryin to figure out why every time I turned gain and volume up it was going into protection,couldn't figure out anything but that I had it to loud . I unhooked x over and my subs are hitting way harder . I just don't think x ver and amp are compatible except at lower volumes

I wished it had have came with another box or placed it inside another box 📦. Could have easily been stolen but over all I'm happy.
