Readers will find out what happens to food and air and blood in our bodies; where our bones, muscles, veins, and nerves are; and how our brain works and controls what we do. Review: Perfect for my 4 yo - Great graphics. My son was interested enough to start asking questions. It does start with baby in womb(has a clear sheet, with picture. When you flip the page the image changes on backside of clear sheet). They use this method repeatedly(muscles, bones etc). Is age appropriate but if your not ready to talk about babies in the womb you might want to hold off on this one. But my son loves it and we pick it up at least once a week and he shows me where his bones are that are in the pictures. Review: Obsessed - My kid is obsessed with the book. It's not meant to overwhelm with words, very toddler level. The illustrations are pretty if a bit small sometimes and the transparent pages are so cool. Covers a lot of topics that you can expand on

He learns best by seeing what is being explained
My 5 year old has a lot of questions about his body. He learns best by seeing what is being explained. This book offers kid friendly images that help me show him what's on the inside. He loves the pictures that overlay.

Must read for curious toddlers
My almost 3 year old absolutely loves this book. He's had a fascination with the body from an early age and loves the detail and explanation in this book. Totally age appropriate for 2.5-5 and serves as a great intro into the body.

Excellent Book
This is a very nice book. My oldest granddaughter was asking a lot of questions about the body and how the bones etc. all work and are put together. I ordered this and a few other books on the subject and she love them.

Good for 4 year old to “see” inside the body
My 4 year old loves this book, there’s more here than he can fully understand now but he can still look at the pictures and ask questions.

Reproductive system is missing!
First of all, the book is way smaller than I expected. I am not familiar with the series (My First Discoveries) and I did not pay attention to the description that states that the book size is 6.5 x 7 inches. For such a book it would be better to have a regular or big size. The idea of transparent pages with different body systems is absolutely wonderful. However, the reproductive system is missing! What kind of an odd mind would picture boys and girls genitals and leave out reproductive system? Hey, it is not like poof! and reproductive system appears out of nowhere at puberty! Also, a fetus is pictured in some kind of sphere in vacuum. Seriously? Nowadays at the age recommended (3-5 years) children already know that babies are not brought by storks, but grow in a woman belly. Authors (or editors, whoever made the decision on leaving those facts out) should get over their prudishness. So I would recommend this book ONLY as an additional material to complete anatomy book.

Great book for youth
It was difficult to find. I ordered it from several other resources and then it got "canceled" after I ordered it.

The Body: Great Book for Young Kids!
Amazing little book! Measures about 6" x 7". Hard cover, with cardboard pages. Very durable. As the parent, I love the internal transparent pages to overlay on the regular illustrations. Concepts are easy to follow. My 3 year old is fascinated to better understand what is happening inside her body. We have re-read the book many times. A great purchase.

Wonderful little book
Wonderful little book. Our three year old has been fascinated by the human body and this little book is a nightly read for her. The transparencies are fantastic and well thought out to show her protective. Well done! Highly recommended

If I could choose one anatomy book for children it would be this one
Bought for my son who has recently turned 3, this book is the perfect starting point for understanding the human body. It is comprehensive so would probably suit an older child as well, without being too complicated for a younger child. The illustrations are very detailed and clear and I really like that the body featured is that of a child similar in age to my boy (so that he understands that it's basically himself that he's looking at.) My son has recently been enjoying a wooden anatomy puzzle featuring the different layers of the human body from skeleton, organs, muscles, and then skin, so I was looking for a companion book to open up that conversation further. It's worth noting that he isn't very advanced in terms of holding a conversation yet he still finds this book engaging. I'm really pleased with this purchase and highly recommend this book to a wide age range of children.
