Great bang for your buck!!
I bought this stereo for my 99 Ford F-150 to replace the OEM. I was able to get this stereo from the Amazon Warehouse Deals for only around $14 bucks. When I got it, I am almost certain it was new and everything was sealed. I have been using this for about a month or so now and haven't had any problems with it. The install was super simple, only taking around 45 min. Changing out the stereo made the sound quality of my speakers so much better and louder. The Bluetooth works really great and automatically connects to my phone and will continue playing my music if I leave it open in my phone. Every once and a while the Bluetooth cuts off for a sec and turns back on, which doesn't really bother me...especially for the price. One thing that bothers me a little about the design is that the clock doesn't stay on, so if you want to see what time it is you have to press DISP and then it stays up for 5 seconds and goes away. I also am having a hard time accessing the BND button. I imagine this is suppose to be to adjust the band...but when I press it nothing happens. It might just be user error, or I might have a defective unit...still doesn't bother me enough to return it. Buttons feel a little cheap and the volume knob is a little fickle. Overall for the price of this stereo, it is a great entry level stereo if you are trying to push a little more power to your speakers and want Bluetooth, USB, and AUX features.

It really is a BOSS for the price...
I received this unit a few days ago. The installation was easy. I bought the dash kit for my 2002 Ford Ranger and the wiring harness so I wouldn't have to cut any wires from the factory wiring. The wire colors from the radio connector and the Ford adapter matched up perfectly. I soldered the wires and used heat shrink tubing to make for a neat looking cable. With the right tools the old radio was easily removed from the dash. The dash adapter I bought made the install of the new radio a neat looking setup. I put my music library on a SD card which I also like because if doesn't stick out like a USB drive would, although I do like having the USB connection on the face of the unit. I'm a person that is happy to let my music play randomly so I don't need to fiddle with controls while I'm driving trying to find a particular song. I have almost 800 songs that gives me many hours of listening pleasure. I like the sound of unit from the factory speakers. Changing the source is done easily either from the remote or the radio controls. Songs continue from were they left off when turning the unit back on. FM and AM stations come in crisp and clear. I would say for the price this is an outstanding radio. Time will tell the durability of the unit. Update - 3/12/2014 As other reviewers have stated I too have the problem of the radio not coming on when I start my 2002 Ford Ranger and it won't turn on from the radio buttons. I found that if I start the truck by going to the next key position and wait a couple seconds until the radio comes on then go to the start position I don't seem to have the problem. It also does sometime forget to start a song were it left off and goes to the number one song instead. I have to hit the random button to get it to go back to random playback. Despite these two quirks I still like the radio. It has good sound with my factory installed speakers and I like having the SD card slot on the front. The SD card doesn't stick out or get in the way and a 32 gig card will hold more music than I can even imagine using.

Good value
For the money, this receiver is a great value. The receiver comes with half a wiring harness (the side that connects to the receiver, not the car side), a remote (which I'm still not sure why I'd need it), some mounting hardware, and an anemic user manual. The manual is not very detailed, but it will help you figure out how to use the device. Installation instructions are not very helpful and didn't work for my vehicle. Thankfully I was able to modify the stock receiver mount to fit this unit in less than an hour by drilling four holes and using the included screws. When you purchase this item, you should also buy a wiring harness for your car (Look on http://www.crutchfield.com/car/outfitmycar/car.aspx to determine what harness fits your car). By buying a harness, you can solder or crimp the included harness's wires to the vehicle-specific wiring harness. This simplifies installation and you don't have to modify the wires in your car. The buttons on this unit are a little squishy, but they seem to work fine. The text on the buttons indicating additional functions is so small it is hard to read. For example, the '1' button does play/pause for USB, Bluetooth, & SD. Especially while backlit, this marking is nearly illegible from arm length. Hands-free calling works well enough. You do have to press the phone button on the unit, which is on the right side farthest from the driver seat. Using Siri (and I assume Google Now or Cortana) is possible and works decently well. To do so, you must activate the assistant on your phone (not necessarily hands-free step), then the receiver acts like a call has been initiated. This mode switch takes a second or two, which can cause the assistant to miss your command on the first try, but subsequent commands are fine since they don't require a new session to be started. Pros: + Looks good + Good price + Good sound quality + Bluetooth support Cons: - Squishy buttons - No track information over Bluetooth - Text on buttons very small (Edit 6/24/15: The buttons do actually have functions printed on them, but very small. Review modified to reflect this)

Great inexpensive car stereo
Let's first make clear that this is an under $60 stereo to be clear on the expectations. Haven't found something else at this price point that is so complete. First, as music player is very simple (in the good way). The ability to skip through folders makes it easy to classify your music by genre, tempo, or whatever you might want by simply putting them in folders... No need for fixing MP3 tags. Solid state media (no moving parts inside of the unit) makes it a great option form my jumpy 4WD SUV. Sound is decent (i did get some good although not top notch speakers) and volume is relatively loud... enough for in-car listening and I still can add another pair of speakers. The control panel is good. A multi line display would be better but i can't complain. It does scroll folder name, file name, title, artist. (first two would be enough for me. Now, one neg is that it is somewhat hard to see under bright sunlight. Now... the real surprise has been the Bluetooth function... No fancy functions here, but audio quality is GREAT specially considering that the mic is built into the unit (unlike some other more expensive ones with an ugly cable running to an external mic). I haven't get people making me repeat or asking me to "can't hear you ...take them off speaker", which is something very common with some of my coworkers' systems. I guess they haven even noticed ;-). The material in the front panel seems a bit cheap but it is expected at this price range. So far no problems with engine noise or other interferences. Radio works fine in the city, and havent tested in highways because I don't use radio that much but I don't expect to have more problems than I've seen on major brand, expensive units. I'm even planing to get another to turn it into a portable boombox.

If you're buying it for the bluetooth audio, watch out
Incredible improvement. Replaced a 1987 jvc stereo so maybe i'm just not used to features. I love this bluetooth connectivity. The phone doesn't even leave my pocket. Once paired, I get into my car, turn on the stereo and my podcast picks up right where I left off. Leaving my car I pop off the faceplate, podcast paused. Never experienced such convenience in audio. Maybe my standards aren't high but the difference between this and my old dying box is night and day. Tons of options for audio. It was easy to install, all cables clearly marked and prestripped. It was a quick 20 minute setup. Just remember the yellow just connects with the positive same as the red wire. Some big gripes though. The remote is 100% useless. It uses IR which is just dumb. I have to point it at the stereo to use it which totally eliminates the convenience compared to the face buttons. Which means it can't be used to control the stereo outside of the car, which means it can't just be attached to something for quick controls. Real bummer. Also it makes phone control with phonecalls almost impossible. In order to dial the phone with the radio you need to do it with the remote. As mentioned, it doesn't work. I have no idea why Boss would think dialing a number with a remote that can't keep up was even feasible. Parked (because you should never try this while driving.) I tried 3 times to dial a number with the remote. Not once did this result in a successful call. The system seems impatient for the number prompts. You are supposed to hit the call button and dial a 10 digit number. It thinks you've given up by number 4 and stops. This is on top of the number pad on the remote being organized nothing like a phone number pad. As if it could register the number hits fast as i could dial it on the remote (it wont). Phone quality was not great either. Calling someone they could hardly hear me. Microphone placement must not be great Other than that, usb works good, sd works good, bluetooth works good. Sound quality is good. 3 stars because that remote is absolute garbage, which is a shame because it limits the advertised features. When everything is geared to moder media, why would you do it all with an IR remote? Just silly. UPDATE: Lowering my rating again. There is a distinct whine in the bluetooth audio that will not go away. I have tried multiple devices and the issue persists. When I first sync the bluetooth device. the audio seems fine. However, when you leave and return and it automatically resyncs, a buzz or hum is heard under all audio tracks. I initially thought it must have been a problem with my old iphone, however, now i've tried it with an android tablet and a new iphone. First sync audio is clear as day. Once it reconnects to the device it gets a background buzz. It's extemely obnoxious and now I have the choice of returning this and having no stereo for god knows how long or living with it. I've checked over the wiring, i've tried repositioning the bluetooth antenna. problem continues to persist. Leading me to think either this unit is defective or just cheap. real bummer as that was my biggest reason for purchase.

Installed in a 2001 f150 seems to work well
I was going to buy one of those 12 volts plug-in fm convert/ bluetooth things for my truck which is a 2001 f150. After thinking up about it and looking at the prices I decaded for 20 bucks more I could just change out the stereo. I ordered this unit with a Mettra 70-1771 radio wire harness, stereo removal tool and a new mounting kit. The mounting kit was going to be delivered seprate and will not be here till next week, so I hooked it up without it. On my truck there are 2 plugs, a 16 pin and a 20 pin connectors. The stereo only uses the 16 pin. I wasted about 1/2 hour or more thinking that is where the power came from it but it does not. I am not sure what the 20 pin is for but it does not seem to matter. I hooked up the wires and plugged it in and it worked. The bluetooth took a couple of minutes for my phone would find it and it did. I thought it sound good but I am old and my hearing is not want it used to be. I would agree about some other reviews I read about this unit on the buttons, they are small especially the blue tooth phone pick up and hang up so I would have to hunt for them if I used it when I was driving. I was just planning on using the USB connection to charge my phone when using the bluetooth however when I plug my phone into the usb connector then the blue tooth feature disappears. Maybe I could play everything through the usb but I am not sure how to do that. Never the less the charging cord in the lighter still works fine for charging the phone. I am pretty sure the mount bracket will be easy to install the stereo in so I am not going to up date this just for that. I gave it 5 stars since it was everything it showed it was when I bought it even the small buttons. I think the newer model fixed that but it cost a little more and Iam too cheap to spend a whole 20 bucks.

... a stock 1999 Honda Accord stereo which was an awesome stock stereo
I bought this as a replacement for a stock 1999 Honda Accord stereo which was an awesome stock stereo. Unfortunately, there was no line-in in that unit and of course Bluetooth and SD cards probably didn't even exist back then. Let's be honest here...the radio reception sucks...and I live in metropolitan Houston...not in the boonies so the radio part of this unit is not a plus. Both AM and FM reception is sketchy but since I stream pretty much everything from my phone...Who cares? I paid less than 55 bucks for this thing with free shipping and the Bluetooth streaming is PERFECT! I got my Pandora...my GPS navigation,,,my podcasts...my Google music...everything I wanted working just fine. Installation was painless...took my friend maybe 30 minutes to hook up everything. Talking on the phone via this unit is fair I guess. People don't seem to have problems hearing me but for some reason you cannot hear their voices overly well through the speakers...but that doesn't concern me much since I don't have long conversions while driving anyway. The SD card reader and USB flash drive reader is a decent substitute for a CD player which this unit does not have. The detachable face is a plus to deter some thief from breaking my window to steal a cheap stereo. This unit is extremely light and kind of has a cheap feel to it but who cares? If you are a minimalist like me and living on a budget I highly recommend this unit. The line in aux input works fine but I really don't use it much but it is nice to have. I have not even attempted to use the remote because I don't need it. I figured out how to use most of the features I needed within a couple days. I can only give this unit 3 stars because it is a low end model. I am happy with this purchase and Amazon delivered it to me within 2 days.

Nothing fancy, but a great deal at 50 bucks.
I've seen some of the lower starred reviews here, and I have to remind them, THIS IS A $50 STEREO! And for that 50 bucks, it's a heck of a unit. My car stereo was stolen a few weeks back, and I went looking for a new one that met my needs at a low price. I hardly ever play CDs anymore, so I decided to look at all solid-state units and was pleasantly surprised to see how inexpensive they were compared to units with CD players. I already had an aftermarket harness installed, so installing was merely a matter of matching up the correct colors on the new harness and plugging it in. While this stereo doesn't have a huge amount of wattage, it sounds great through my stock VW speakers, much better than either the factory stereo or my stolen aftermarket stereo. The interface is simple and quite easy to use, and the backlighting is quite bright and easy to see. Files played from the SD and USB both sound excellent - very clean and with good dynamics. The tuner picks up stations clearly that both of my previous units had trouble with. I also had no trouble pairing the unit with either my phone or tablet via bluetooth, and the sound from those devices is just as good as playing directly from flash media. As far as reliability goes, I've had the unit for about a month now, and so far no problems. While this unit doesn't have video, a fancy LED screen, surround sound, 16 channel eq, etc., if you are looking for a good-sounding unit without a lot of bells and whistles for a price that can't be beat, IMO, this is a great choice.

Boss Audio. Excelente calidad-precio

Do not purchase this product - BOSS audio system
I purchased this product in when in Dubai. When I arrived in my home country I proceeded to install this audio system in my car. I've done a few installation in my time, and this was the first for this brand. First of all, the fuse that is connected at the back was burnt. I had to purchase a new one. Then once I got it all connected, and turned the power of my car on, the audio system did not work. I checked the system via a separate connection, and I can claim that the audio system was faulty. Somehow Amazon Dubai still shipped it out🤷. If its a lesson learnt, is to never purchase electronic goods on Amazon.
