Excellent performer
Tiring of the feeble & unreliable WiFI reception 2 floors up from where our EE router is obliged to sit, I thought I'd give a WiFi extender a try. I was expecting sluggish but reliable performance but I'm getting the speeds I'd expect when sat next to the router. I could imagine setting up might be tricky for those who wouldn't ordinarily take an interest in such things but I found it straightforward enough once I'd bothered to grasp how it does what it does. I've no idea if this particular device or brand is better than any other but the few bits & pieces of Netgear stuff I've bought over the years have been remarkably trouble-free so although I haven't had it long enough to vouch for its ability to stay connected & not spontaneously combust, thus far I myself would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation to the one mentioned above.

Don't delay, buy it today to instantly solve your wi-fi reach problems
I should have bought this Netgear Extender sooner. It would have saved a lot of frustration. I had struggled with poor wifi coverage for a long time which meant my printer and smart speaker were tempermental and worked with difficulty. Don't listen to the reviewers who say it is complicated to set up. It could not be easier and took less than 10 minutes with instant results. It is the best thing I have bought this year. I just plugged it in near the router and waited for it to quickly boot up. I then pressed the WPS button on the router and the extender. They quickly communicated and locked in. I then unplugged the extender and moved it into the hallway. I didn't need to change any settings on my devices because the extender used the same network name so the improvement was instantaneous. No more problems with printing or the smart speaker. I really wish I had done this sooner instead of struggling for so long so don't make the same mistake as me. Do yourself a favour and buy this today. I am not a techie person so if I can do it, you can too. It really was that simple.

Improves connection around the house
I got this to increase WiFi performance in the living room as the Smart TV was constantly losing connection, this has extended the WiFi range but the Ethernet port has proven even more useful in this regard, as it allows for a much more solid connection with less chance of interference from other devices, such as neighbours router. Setup was fairly easy, but the app kept crashing.on my phone so had to use computer to setup instead. If you don't need the more advanced settings, the you can just plug it in and use the WPS button to creat a shared WiFi network.

Easy to set up and it actually works!
This was my second attempt at setting up an extender for my home office. I made the mistake of going for something sub-optimal but cheap at my first attempt (not Netgear btw). So I bit the bullet and paid more for the Netgear Nighthawk. I'm a few days in (and will update this review after a few months) but so far so good. Really easy to set up (I used the Nighthhawk App which was super easy). Took me 10 minutes from getting it out the box to working at my desk (I have basic tech skills). Wifi speeds are great (my office is beyond the outside walls of my house where the router is situated). This extender works as part of the existing wifi router connection - so no fiddling about swapping to different networks. Good customer care from Netgear - I received an email from them, once I'd registered the product, explaining how I can contact them if I needed help. Very pleased so far!

buyer alert - Net Gear state this won't connect to a 4g router
UPDATED REVIEW AT 6 MONTHS OLD - worth reading if you're considering buying this item! We replaced our mains powered 4G LTE router - which had expired - and we're loving our replacement (a D Link 953). We even, now, have 2 4G routers - a battery powered mobile Huawei E5577 (awesome bit of kit!) and a main powered one. The Net Gear extender worked really well with our previous main powered Huawei B525 4G router and it works well with our Huawei mobile 4G router. However, it will not work with our D Link 4G router. I can set it up to extend, but then lose all control - you can't acess the portal once the set up is complete. My computers can all connect to it, as can our really old smart phones, but out newest smart phones won't connect. So i got in touch with Net Gear support, and the message below is copied and pasted - the short answer is, you can't Net Gear extenders with 4G routers. So avoid this extender - either they are correct (they're not) or there is an issue - either way, you're on your own, so avoid this product at all costs and try something else. Apparently my extender is maflunctioning because of my router as it can't connect to 4G routers...................which other LTE routers can connect to............and which this particular extender connected to other in the past............... This is a direct quote from a conversation I'm currently having with NetGeat technical support: "NETGEAR Support - 2020-08-31 23:26:49 Hello xxxxx, Thank you for your response. The issue you are facing is because of the router you have. Extender is not compatible with any 4G LTE router and that is the only reason why it is malfunctioning. Please do let us know if we can assist you further with any other queries/concerns. Thanks, xxxxx Netgear Support"

Good for some uses
I bought this to extend our wifi network to the garden where I have a little home office. I set it up (nice and easy, with simple instructions) and placed it at the back of the house in an area of good wifi signal. Sitting next to it the wifi signal showed as full and I had good download speeds (around 40Mbps), however in the office where the wifi signal still showed as full I was down to about 1.3Mbps at best. This is through 1 external wall, 8m of open space and 1 wooden cabin wall. I tried a variety of things but never managed to improve on this dismal performance. In the end I ran an external ethernet cable from the front of the house and in to the office (purchased online it was half the price of the extender). Now I have the extender plugged in using it's hotspot capability and have great speed wifi and still only the one network name to login to. Overall disappointing for it's main purpose but at least partially redeemed in the end.

Great Coverage with NETGEAR EX6410
My mum was having network issues and complained everyday that her FaceTime calls and YouTube videos always froze and she would have to come in the landing to get it all going again. So when looking around I came across the NETGEAR EX6410 Mesh Extender to extend my existing mesh network. It was value for money and a great looking device. I previously tried others but had to send them back. Since installing this onto my network the signal in my mums room in great to the extent I now get strong WiFi signal in the garden. It looks good and the lights on the unit are clear enough to understand. I also like the fact the if you needed a wire a connection it also has the ability for that too. Alway NETGEAR in WiFi products, stay clear of any other brand. Been there and worn the T Shirt and never again will I buy anything other than NETGEAR.
