Review: hi fi af buy them - These speakers are your dreams, they have rich full sound at any volume. There are tracks I've listened to for 20 years suddenly have detail I have never heard. Sound has texture, clarity, and at 150 watts rms each you'll probably struggle to find a receiver that can push them past their limits. They also do really well for movie audio, the frequency of sound is well balanced between the woofer and tweeters providing an audio that is clear for spoken audio or bass that absolutely slaps. some setup details: I have these paired with an R-120sw subwoofer, and power them with a fosi audio bt20a pushing 110 watts @8 ohms. All combined with shielded cables to everything the sound does not disappoint audiophile expectations. I have also powered these with an older denon receiver at 75 watts per channel and they sounded great, but i wanted a stronger preout signal for the powered subwoofer. In short if you have an average old receiver that pushes 60 watts or more these will be fine but 120 watts would be better.
Review: So you want some nice speakers eh? - These aren’t for everyone... they do require some technical expertise in order to get them up and running and even more so if you’re wanting to get the most out of them. They’re also heavy and you have to attach the legs once they arrive. That may be a dealbreaker to some. Here’s some things that would be obvious to an audiophile but may not be immediately apparent to Joe Blow who’s just looking for some nice speakers. Hopefully it saves you hours of research. 1. These speakers aren’t powered— they don’t plug into the wall. They are not Bluetooth compatible (more on that in a min). You have to wire them to an amplifier or receiver for both power and functionality reasons. 2. Yes, YOU have to wire them. Meaning you need to purchase some speaker wire and use wire strippers to attach to the speaker’s binding posts and then you’ll likely need banana plugs or spades to connect to your power source (amplifier / receiver). 3. I was really hoping the 8” woofers would be enough to run these without a sub... and while they sound good... in the end I wound up purchasing a single Klipsch R-120SW for a fuller low end profile. 4. If you’re just looking for some good speakers to stream music to then these are like using a bazooka when a .22 pistol would do the trick. Bluetooth dumbs down audio quality so you wouldn’t be getting the full experience (by a mile!). 5. Klipsch recommends using an amp with at least 120W (continuous) per channel to power these beasts. Currently I’m using a Yamaha Rx-V385 receiver that pushes ~70W per channel (2 ch) and it still sounds great. I’ve got a Parasound NewClassic 200 integrated amplifier on the way. Will update ASAP. The point of this is that using a cheap, low quality amp or receiver will result in not getting the most out of these—so just buy cheaper speakers if you don’t plan on having all the proper elements in your system. When choosing an amp or receiver make sure it’s compatible with 8ohms speakers like these. I’d also recommend finding one with a built in DAC or using an external DAC. 6. You need to be feeding these speakers high quality audio. That means no iTunes, pandora, Spotify, etc. Look into Deezer... it’s a streaming service that feeds hifi quality audio (with highly customizable EQ settings). The difference after switching was INSANE. The music is almost tangible now.... it has... texture. No I’m not on drugs lol. Just pumped about enjoying my favorite music at such high quality! Also, I’ve noticed much more dynamic sound when going through Aux and not USB. Hopefully this saves you some time! Keep listening, friends. Cheers! Update: These sound even more incredible with the Parasound hooked up. Crystal clear. It’s insane. Oh and my home no longer has a roof hahhaah

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Any chance my pioneer elite vsx-lx303 receiver will drive these?**
A: That receiver would work, but it might not be optimal performance.

The R-820F speaker has a 150Watts minimum power rating at 8 Ohms nominal with a 600 Watts peak. Our speakers can run efficiently off of 80% of their minimum power rating so at least we would recommend 120 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms for this model. We also don’t recommend going over half way to the peak power on our speakers so the maximum recommended would be 300 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms.

**Q: will this work on the sonos amp?**
A: It might not be optimal output, but it would run these speakers. That speaker has a 150 Watts continuous power rating at 8 Ohms nominal and a peak power rated at 600 Watts. Our speakers can run efficiently off of 80% of their continuous power rating so at least we would recommend 120 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms for this model. We also don’t recommend going over half way to the peak power on our speakers so the maximum recommended would be 300 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms.

**Q: Klipsch told me that wc-34c is best match for the r-820f, what makes the wc-34c better than the rp-450c for these? Thank you.**
A: Original question was, "I have a pair of klipsch r-820f and am looking to buy a center channel speaker to match them, will the rp-450c be a good match? i already ordered it."

Our actual response was, "The best match for a center to the R-820F is the R-34C, but this one could be used as well." .

(The tweeter and woofer materials in the R-34C are the same as the R-820F and this model R-34C was designed for use with the same series. You can use the RP-450C as indicated in our original response.)

**Q: will this work with a Yamaha A780 receiver ?**
A: Your receiver produces 80 watts per channel. These speakers are a 150 Watts continuous power rating and a 600 Watts Peak rating at 8 Ohms nominal. These speakers can run efficiently off of 80% of their continuous power rating so at least I'd would recommend 120 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms for this model for better performance.
Sorry hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing set of speakers
*by M***N on December 27, 2019*

Great set of tower speakers, been wanting a klipsch set for years and with the Black Friday deals just couldn’t pass them up. Also picked up a set of R-51M’s and R-41SA’s. Running a 5.1.2 setup through a Pioneer VSX-934 and they sound great. Receiver drives them well with no distortion to speak of, even cranked up. Music sounds great through them and movies are amazing. Watching a movie you’ve seen before is all new again, able to hear aspects of the movies that were missed with out the system. Build quality is superb and the speakers are beautiful. Solid wiring connectors and front cover is held on with magnets, easily removed and not pins and such to break off. Highly recommend!!!
