BOSS Audio Systems CE102 2 Channel 100 Output Car Amplifier

Got this to replace an amp in an RV entertainment system. From the photos it looked similar to my original one that died. Sure enough it was almost identical in size and connections making it easy to install. It was less wattage than the original, so I was worried about volume, but it has enough power to be hear over a very loud air conditioner and sounds nice and clean. Very happy so far.

Junk. I’ve owned this for 45 days and it stopped working. I had to solder a component back to the internal circuit board to bring it back to life. I’ve spent too much time troubleshooting why I get very odd static through the 2 amplified speakers when passing cellphone towers. This amp will be going in the trash as soon as I buy a different brand.

Nice power out of a small package. I used this to power 2 40 watt dash speakers. Works great. I had to buy separate ground loop isolator to cut out alternator noise after install. Otherwise great unit.

I would like to say that I bought my boss amp off of VMinnovations, they did a great job sending the amplifier out in such quick time. I got updates directly from VMinnovations of when they were shipping it and when it would arrive at my house, luckily it only took about 3 days to get to my house from the time that I put an order on amazon. Once I received the package in the mail I was shocked by how small the package was, I immediately opened it and checked out the little amplifier. I then hooked everything up and found two speakers to hook up to it and it worked fine. I used to work for a car electronics shop and I had dealt with several amplifiers from the cheap stuff such as boss, pyle, ssl, and other cheap amplifiers. I also have dealt with the more expensive brands such as rockford fosgate and other well built amps, this amp, for this price, is just a fun amp to mess around with. It is worth the money just to have it to play around with it, I have heard of people making cooler sound systems and this amp would be perfect, just set it up to a 9 volt battery and it will power whatever little speakers you power it to. I would recommend this amp to anyone that wants to just mess around with a fun amp or that wants to install this with some speakers into a cooler.

Electronics like this is basically nonexistent 8n Colorado.Everything here is either bestbuy, pawnshop, or Craigslist. Waiting that long is just dumb.So I find this Boss CE120.And I make the purchase. A "prime" memberBy the time I was able to get the time to start the install (late) I find the Boss CE120 was dead, out of the box.Transformer was a wash. I attempted to see what might be the issue. Cold solder? Misalignment with a resister or such.From what I found the transformer is bad.My loss.However, be warned. These units look to be aged.Could be wrong but lots of ionization and tarnished wiring.Not fun losing 30 bucks. But I cracked the case.My problem.$o...Be careful.After its hooked up?If the light don't come on?Make the return. Get something else.

It pulled back to life my old school tweeters Philips AD0140 T4. I am RCA feeding from a JL Audio JD250/1 monoblock subwoofer amplifier that is subwoofer RCA connected to an Alpine iLX-507 receiver. It adds crispy sharp trebles! Few problems are the BOSS CE102 goes up to only 20Khz, and the Alpine Sub RCA outputs in mono only meaning both tweeters are not in stereo. Wow, I may need to feed the mini BOSS from my rear midranges that are in stereo.

Tiny, whimpy little amplifier. At 0 gain, it's capable of proving enough power to get approximately 1:1 volume from unpowered headunit output to weak headphones. Takes full gain for more stubborn headphones like my shooting muffs. With a little creativity, this amp could find some other uses, but it seems perfect for adding headphones to the car.Well, sort of. Audio quality thus far is a bit crummy when the car is actually running, so I may need to tinker with the grounding or add filtering. Compared to BOSS's other products, this one seems lacking the included stuff department. Would have liked RCA output capability in the box instead of having to buy it myself. (Screw terminal RCAs are awesome, btw) Mounting gear could be a little more diverse. I don't want lag screws sticking out of my plastic. Thank goodness for mighty putty.*edit*Nevermind. This amp has the longevity of a gnat. I thought my remote wire or ground was having an issue so I proceeded to buy a filter. Finally got the filter and after some tinkering that included the extreme of tapping remote to +12V, this thing is dead. That means it was dead in like two or three days.

1 star for the price.1 star for the fact that it can drive a set of 6x8s.. almost as well as my Pioneer deck. In spite of that, I gave it a star because I can definitely see where I might find this small amp useful.I bought this to complete the setup for my truck. My Pioneer deck is 4x50w peak, 22 watts per channel RMS driving the factory 6x8 speakers. I added a cheap $89 12" Kicker subwoofer rated for 150w RMS/300w peak @ 4 ohm. I was just needing a small, cheap amp with LPF to drive that. I connected this BOSS 100w amp using the RCA connectors. At about 1/2 volume from my deck, my sub experienced distortion. At full power from the deck you would think that I had a blown voice coil. I initially had my doubts since the subwoofer was as cheap as you can get a Kicker 12" to be.. but I pulled my 800w Pioneer amp from my car to test, and boom! Great bass from the cheap sub. Now I'm just pissed at myself because I mounted this BOSS amp onto my enclosure without testing it first.I tested this amp on my factory speakers (rear). They sound about the same as my fronts, which were driven by my deck. Issues start when you get to the upper end of the volume range, where the speakers driven by the BOSS amp start getting distortion while the speakers driven by the deck continue to perform well. This makes me doubt that this amp is 100 watts, even if that number was peak instead of RMS. Each channel on this BOSS amp is probably less than the 22 watts RMS that my Pioneer deck can do.Where I can see this amp being useful is maybe in a smaller ice house or mobile home, used to amplify an iPhone or other small gadget out to a pair of 6x9 or bookshelf speakers. Definitely not for driving a subwoofer.

Excellent little unit very straightforward and compact easy to understand instructions not overly complicated. Works perfect for adding a little extra kick to either Factory speakers or my single cab truck with some speakers behind the seats was able to slide the unit inside the dash and not have it hang out anywhere

I am using it as a bass booster for my home theatre woofer. It works free. Cheap but of great quality.

He quedado muy satisfecho de los produtos boss, previamente compre un autoestero con bocinas fue necesario adquierir este amplificador para conectar las bocinas restantes, funciona muy bien pero estaria excelente que contara con las 'pinzas' para atrapar los cables y evitar asi el cortar y unir cables, ademas lo unico que no me agrado es que cuando apago o enciendo el estereo/auto, se escucha un 'tronido' en las bocinas; por otro lado cuando comienzo a reproducir sonido las bocinas se escuchan antes y despues de apagar el auto en comparación a las bocinas del autoestero
