Bare minimum would be 4-16 power and probably more would be better. I have done 300yd but wished I had more zoom. I am shooting a 556 with 20" heavy. **Q: Can this scope handle the recoil of a shotgun or large caliber rifle ?** A: I own 9 different UTG scopes. I have had one problem with one that I mounted on a Savage axis II. The light for the reticle stopped working. Holds zero even after several hundred rounds. This 30-06 kicks a lot harder than my 12 gauge even with slugs. It is the hardest kicking 06 I’ve ever shot. I never took it off to return it as I don’t use the light. I have them mounted on my 308, several .243s, 300 blackout, and of course 5.56 with no problems. **Q: How would this scope for deer hunting with a Stevens shotgun, and for small game? What kind of attachment should I look for for a single barrel?** A: I wouldnt recommend this scope to be used on a shotgun. I would say get you a nice red dot scope. Hunting with a shotgun is usually within 100yards. This scope is more so for a rifle able to reach out to about 300yards or better! A good red dot will do you just fine. Just my opinion. **Q: Does it fit a hammerli 850 cal 22 pellets, it has a picatinny (11 mm ).** A: It comes with Weaver/Picatinny style mounts, but an inexpensive adapter can be purchased for the 11 mm dovetails allowing you to use the supplied mounts. Another option is to purchase 11 mm mounts to fit the scope. ## Frequently Bought Together - UTG 3-12X44 30mm Scope, AO, 36-color Mil-dot, w/ Rings - UTG Add-on Index Wheel for Side Wheel AO Scope, 60mm , Black - UTG Add-on Index Wheel for Side Wheel AO Scope, 80mm --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/1175406-utg-3-12x44-30mm-scope-ao-36-color-mil-dot](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/1175406-utg-3-12x44-30mm-scope-ao-36-color-mil-dot) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
