My extended arm in the kitchen!
I had a 7 cup CFP and upgraded to the 14 cup Cuisinart Food Processor LOVE IT for slicing and shredding. WOW! Now I have the Cuisinart Smart Stick IMMERSION Blender my extended arm in the kitchen. As-soon-as I unboxed it I made a smoothie with frozen banana and strawberries with protein powder. I used the small CHOPPER/GRINDER to process the frozen strawberries to the right texture. I used the plastic measure cup to blend the milk and frozen banana with the HAND BLENDER. Made a wonderful smoothie just the way I like it! Up until this point I used my Large 14 cup Cuisinart Food Processor as a multi-purpose machine-love it. But now I can use the 32 Oz. malt/milkshake CUP that I also purchase per suggestion from AMAZON to mix a fantastic smoothie. This hand blender so far is a really good thing! The cord is a good length the motor has two speeds and is very good for intended use and easy and less clean up. I have arthritis and just can't mix, chop, shred and blend like I used to. Now I have an extended arm in the kitchen! Will update since I have not used the WHISK; but I will let you know Love Cuisinart. It still seems to be made well even though it is made in china. I really would prefer to by made in USA. Thanks everyone for the helpful comments and reviews. [I really liked the video review by a reviewer.] This was a good price with the AMAZON PRIME shipping. Update: I have since used the whisk! I whisked two egg whites for a meringue topping. The egg whites whipped beautifully into peaks. I used to whip and whisk by hand; but, with this arthritic shoulder I could never have done such a great job as this Cuisinart Smart Stick.

A fantastic set you will use every day!
This is a terrific little set for all skill levels, and I use one or the other almost every day. I love making a big batch of salad dressing and pouring it into a jar to last me the week (handy little spout on the beaker!), but I use them for lots of more substantial dishes and they work beautifully. I've found that throwing whole cloves of garlic in is not the best, as the blender won't pulverize them like I would hope. Just cut cloves, or similar ingredients, into smaller pieces before chucking them in. I used the chopper blender to make butternut squash ravioli from scratch. I never thought I could call that recipe easy, but thanks to the blender it was so simple! I also use these for spreads, dips, aioli, hot sauce, smoothies and soup. I have an outlet by the stove, so I sautee the vegetables, throw in the stock, turn off the heat for a minute, and purée right in my soup pot with the immersion blender. And you know what else? Try it for beating eggs. You've never had a fluffier omelet. My favorite part is that cleanup is a cinch. Unless I'm working with something sticky, I can usually just detach the lower portion, rinse it and put it in the drying rack. These blenders have made cooking easier for me, which encourages me to cook at home and try new recipes. When you look at it that way, it's saving me time and money and allows me to eat healthier. Win win WIN.

Good product, but poor directions how to use the reversible cutting blade.
I just purchased Smart Stick Blender Model CSB-79. I haven't used it enough to comment on durability, but the design, materials, and function are all excellent. An interesting feature is that the cutting blade for the auxiliary chopper/cutting bowl is reversible, depending on what foods are being processed. Unfortunately, the instructions how to mount and reverse the blade are ambiguous and potentially dangerous. If Cuisinart is offering this feature, I feel they should provide clearer instructions how to use it. The blade has the word "SHARP" imprinted on it. The instructions state: "Assemble the blade with this side up to use the sharp edge". There are illustrations apparently showing the blade in the "sharp" and "blunt" orientations; however, the two diagrams are actually identical, the one being rotated 180 degrees from the other. I incorrectly interpreted the diagrams as showing the blade already mounted on the spindle... a critical error. This would imply it had been flipped upside down. If you would mount the blade ring in this way, it will actually be in its "blunt" orientation. Of course, I felt a bit embarrassed once I figured it out, but even in retrospect, the instructions are unnecessarily ambiguous. They use the words "side" and "edge" interchangeably and, therefore, ambiguously. They use the terms "blunt" and "dull" interchangeably. They should choose one or the other for consistency. They refer to the plastic mounting spindle as a "sheath". It's not abundantly clear what is meant by the "hub holding ribs (grips)". And, finally, having misinterpreted the illustration, it wasn't apparent (to me) that "up" refers solely to its operating orientation. The most serious consequence of this is that lacking clear instructions, it is very (!) easy to cut yourself on the "razor sharp" blade edge,... a hazard I can personally attest to. In any case, here are my instructions, modified from Cuisinart, but with my recommended terminology. (These would have worked for me. The "hub nubs" would need to be labeled on a diagram, which they are not currently.) "To mount the cutting blade on the plastic mounting spindle, stand the spindle vertically on a flat surface in its operating orientation. Holding the blade ring CAREFULLY by the "hub nubs", slide the ring downward to the base of the spindle. For cutting with the sharp edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face upward (toward the top of the spindle). For cutting with the blunt edge, the side labeled "SHARP" should face downward (toward the base of the spindle). Then, while holding spindle with one hand, and the hub nubs with the other hand, CAREFULLY apply a slight clockwise rotation to the blade ring to lock it into position. To remove the blade, rotate the blade ring counterclockwise, then lift to remove. WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW FINGERS TO CONTACT THE RAZOR-SHARP CUTTING EDGE. THE RISK OF INJURY IS POTENTIALLY GREATER WHEN REMOVING THE BLADE RING THAN WHEN INSTALLING IT."

Helps me eat healthier meals!
This is my new favorite kitchen item! It is so easy to use and clean that I find myself making better health choices. I make more soups now and blended squash dishes than I ever did before. And I eat a quality ingredient smoothie almost every day. I didn't used to like making these things because I hated lugging the blender out of the cupboard (I have a small kitchen), and I hated cleaning it even more. Plus, it just isn't as good at blending things as the immersion blender. This gives you a lot more control. You can totally blend a soup or only partially blend just to add some more creamy texture to the broth. I love that I'm eating soups made at home. It is so much better for my budget and also I know exactly what goes into them (a lot less cream and salt!). I'm using up more of my produce and getting more flavor than I ever imagined. Let me also rave about the extras. The little chopper is my new best friend. I LOVE it for mincing garlic and chopping herbs like parsley or basil. I find myself making more of my own salad dressings that are lower in fat and higher in flavor because it's just so easy to use the attachment. And everything about this product is easy to clean, even the blades. Yes, you have to be careful but it really is intuitive. I'm finding the size is also more convenient because I love to make frozen banana "ice-cream" (just blended frozen bananas and the addition of whatever you want... peanut butter, a little milk and vanilla, other frozen fruits...) but my full size food processor just sort of bats the frozen banana pieces around instead of actually blending them together. This one is just the right size for a double serving. I've only used the whisk once to whip cream. It actually did such a good job I almost made butter, so I'll have to watch more closely next time. I want to buy this product for everybody in my family! I might do just that. Bravo!

Great & versatile
I bought this in 2013 and it's still going strong! I use it to puree tomato sauce, soups, mince onions, the list goes on!

Do not buy this weak cumbersome product
As a blender, this product makes a mess and does a medium job mixing only very soft and fragile ingredients. As a grinder, this product was unable to grind flax seeds, unable to grind chia seeds As a food processor, this product unable to make hummus using chickpeas that had been soaked for 24 hours. Blender experience: I was able to make a "smoothie" using almond milk, blueberries, and hulled hemp seeds. However, I had to move the wand around a lot which caused a lot of unexpected splashing. The hemp seeds really didn't get blended at all, and the blueberries didn't get blended very well. Grinder experience: I was unable to grind flax seeds and chia seeds with the blade set to either direction. I tried several times with varying amounts of seeds in the container. Each time the seeds came out whole. Food processor experience: I was really excited to make hummus with this food processor. I bought all the ingredients. I soaked my chickpeas for 24 hours. I boiled the chickpeas after the soak to make them just a bit more tender. I filled the food processor container about 1/2 full with the tender chickpeas, some fresh chopped garlic, some lemon juice, and a touch of olive oil. This product did a poor job processing the ingredients. I thought maybe I had the blade on the wrong side. I emptied the container, rotated the blade, and remounted the blade. I put approximately the same amount of the same ingredients in the container and attempted to process. The device made a sound like it was spinning but nothing was moving. I removed the top and cleaned all the connection points for mechanical parts, put the top back on, and attempted to process the ingredients. Once again, same spinning noise but no visible movement. To troubleshoot, I removed everything from the food processor cleaned the container, cleared the connection points for mechanical parts, and put the top back on with nothing in the container. I started the device and the blades spun. I gave it one last try. I put about 1/2 of the same ingredients as before into the container and attempted to process the ingredients. This time the blades did spin, but the blade must have been on the less optimal side and did a very poor job processing the ingredients. At this point my hands were covered in an oily mess from trying to fill the container and remove ingredients from the container repeatedly. It's almost impossible to remove or attach the top when there is any amount of oil on hands. There is nothing to get leverage on both the handle and the container. This device failed or performed extremely poorly during all of the food preparation I tried. I was really disappointed with this device. I have a small kitchen and wrongly thought this would be my food processing and space saving solution.

Easy to assemble, take apart and clean.
This Cuisinart works well and is easy to assemble, take apart and clean. It's hard to go wrong with stainless. The motor is strong enough, although I wouldn't exactly call it torquey. It makes pretty thick milk shakes, but make sure you add enough milk to your ice cream. The chopper attachments "geared down" the motor, so it chops fairly well. I haven't run across anything it won't chop, but I also don't think I've really tested it with anything too difficult. I haven't tried using it as a mixer. I primarily bought this to make milk-shakes and occasionally chop some veggies/nuts. It does both well. A blender is able to do things much faster, but this is also much easier to use, pack up, tear down and clean. It's particularly nice to have when we are traveling, whether on a boat or in a camper.

A quality product -- This is my third purchase.
This is my third Cuisinart stick blender. I use it to make soap -- 15lb batches at a time and my stick blender gets a lot of use. This product doesn't splash the caustic soap and lye all over while I use it, whereas other stick blender's I've tried splash the contents of my soap pot dangerously. Previously my cuisineart stick blenders have lasted at least 5 years with heavy use and I don't expect anything different from this one. This is a quality product. I've used the chopper attachment successfully but it isn't something I use often. The one I had before had a plastic bit break off that made it impossible to use. This one seems to be made of a different material, so I think that issue might be corrected by the manufacturer. The blade on this is super sharp so be careful when you wash it. All in all, a good product for blending and chopping small amounts of vegetables. Great for turning a vegetable soup into a cream soup.

bad design
power switch far too hard to hold for prolonged periods that are often required when mixing whipping ingredients. I expected more from Cuisinart

Herramienta práctica en el día a día...
La cosa más práctica para moler los guisados de mi bebé....la usas en 2 segundos....y se lava en nada. Mucho mejor que lavar el complicado robot procesador que tengo...

Safety button is the worst thing ever
I bought this hand blender for soap making, and it very difficult to operate since you have to hold the lock button down and the speed button simultaneously so that the blades start running. For this, you have to use both hands, and even after the blades start running, they suddenly stop, and you have to unlock the device again. Since I use this hand blender with lye it is kind of dangerous having trouble operating and using both hands to start the blender. I wish there was a way to disable lock button for good
