Not too much texture?** A: Hi, Yes, it can be used for colored pencils. I use this paper for making monoprints on a gelatin printing plate with acrylic paint. I use this paper because of how smooth it is for printmaking. I think you will love this paper and it’s great because there are 50 sheets. Have fun creating! **Q: Is this a book that can be opened to painting OR are the sheets made to be used outside the book separately?** A: Both, however this hot press paper did not hold up to my style of painting, I only used a couple of sheets and discarded the package. **Q: cotton %?** A: Zoom in on product.
