Buy it!
If this is for your family or a friend it is very helpful for children to understand what HG is and how it affects mom.

Good enough
Only children's book on the market that covers this topic it seems. Like another reviewer said- I thought including the topic of death was a little much for my toddlers who hadn't even considered it (we skipped that page). Also, thought there could have been a better way to address children's frustration with mama being so ill rather than kicking/damaging. Overall, a good read for little ones who don't understand why mama isn't her normal self.

Not super easy for kids to understand
Book is great overall but it uses some words and language I don’t feel most small children would comprehend. It would be best suited for a 6-7 year old.

Would have loved to have this much earlier!
I loved this book and so does Wolfcub, our 12 mo old rainbow baby. I lost 10 before her and quite frankly I should have bought this book with her and read it to my belly each time I was hospitalized! It would have I think made me feel better too!At 12 mos she's not quite understanding what's going on but likes mumma's "sick food" and vaguely understands some days I'm really bad and some days I disappear for several hours for an appointment or treatment and come back with strange pictures(ultrasound of her Sibling!) and tons of hugs & kissesNot everyone is going to have the same path as mama rabbit BUT this is a great tool to start explaining why mumma feels crummy a lot or needs to have a special food or drink (for me I have a relative safe list of some foods & drinks. Eg Frozen Cola slushy, HiC orange, plain grilled scallops, nerds rope etc)15/10 do recommend, even if it's your first and HG coming at you hard. It's nice to tell your child their journey earthside.

A MUST for HG moms with toddlers/preschoolers
HG is absolutely horrible and when you suddenly can't help your other children (let alone yourself) it is difficult to explain why to them. This books help the children know that we still love them and that the sickness will end eventually. My 2 year old loved it but that would probably be the comprehension age cutoff-younger children would not understand it enough.

This book is great for explaining hyperemesis and how mama is feeling to ...
All my time spent pregnant has been plagued by severe hyperemesis gravidarum. My sickness really took its toll on my three year old. This book is great for explaining hyperemesis and how mama is feeling to small children. It shows the mama bunny with an IV, in a non scary way. I changed some of the wording to match what was happening to me specifically when I read it to my son. This book made me shed some tears. Honest. If you're going through hyperemesis and have other children, this book is fantastic. It even deals with the child bunny being upset by his mom being to sick to be around him. I know personally how awful I feel when I have to tell my son to leave me alone. But this book I think, does a good job of explaining what's going on.

Perfect
I purchased this book in hopes that it would be something that I could read to my children to help them understand what we had been through with HG. It actually went beyond my expectations. I had not realized the impact on my children having been sick for so long. Reading the story about the little bunny and his mom, they opened up, asked questions and admitted to wondering if I loved them anymore, just like the bunny in the story. That shocked me because I tell them all the time how much I love them and how precious they are. The book really helped them to understand that it was not anything negative about them, but mom was sick. I highly recommend this book to momma's with HG. My children were ages 5, 6, and 7. But older and younger children will do well with this book.

Such a help for conversations with my 2.5 year old
I'm so grateful that this book exists! Watching me go through HG has been scary for my toddler and this book has been a fantastic aid. It also strangely, helped me as well to better understand my condition and remember that it will end.

Must have for pregnant mothers with HG who have children
I got this book when I was expecting my third baby, mostly for my 3 year old but it turns out even my 18 month old at that time understood it. It is a thin paperback book with lovely illustrations and a wonderful story that does not hide the horribleness but at the same time reminds the child that mummy is only sick for a little while and includes the excitement of the pending arrival of the baby. As the book was written by an American the wording is slightly non British with words such as trash can. But this is not annoying at all as the story is so well written. When my husband first read it to my girls they both had tears in their eyes and the eldest said "mummy has that too daddy". My third is now nearly 4 months and they still like me to read it to them especially the youngest, she can now express what she remembers and we talk about it. Am keeping the book just in case my daughter suffer with HG in the future. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Bit scary for a 3 year.old
Maybe more appropriate for older kids but the mention.of death was a bit heavy handed for my 3 year old

Amazing book to help our children understand HG!
This is a fabulous book for letting our children understand why mummy is so poorly. Really did help with my kids. Thanks so much to the author for creating this book.

A Gift of a book.
This book really helped me explain to my 3yr old Granddaughter what was happening with her mummy during a terrible time. I was asked to read it again and again. I would highly recommend it.
