A Great Alternative to Kyocera Knives
The 6" Shenzhen Chef's Knife is a great product, and the price s a great deal easier to pay than the price of a comparable Kyocera knife. A couple of years ago I decided to buy a Kyocera knife for my wife, who makes hundreds of egg rolls many times a year. Her steel knife was no sharper than a butter knife after innumerable rounds of vegetable prep for her egg rolls, and I thought I could make her chore easier. It turned out that the knife was just what she needed, and that it made the job a far easier. Well, that was 2 years ago, and despite the fact that ceramic knives hold their edge better, even they get dull. When looking to get her another new ceramic knife, I stumbled on the Shenzhen Chef's Knife. Ceramic is ceramic, so I figured out that this would work as well as Kyocera. It turns out that it is comparable in every way, but the price. Both knives are ergonomic, and both knives are sharp enough to shave (when new). I have since discovered that there are sharpeners made specifically for ceramic knives, which may lengthen the time between further purchases of these excellent knives. But, if you don't have one, and you need a truly great knife for slicing vegetables, fruits, and even boneless meat, this is the way to go. If anybody asks me for my suggestion, I will enthusiastically recommend a Shenzhen ceramic knife. Get one and see if you don't find how nice they are. UPDATE: It is now Feb 19, 2021, and we still have our knife. It's not quite as sharp, but is still in one piece, and functioning. Reasonable caution will prevent chipping or breakage of the tang. Sudden lateral forces, or trying to use it like a cleaver, will likely break the blade. The ceramic material is far stronger than steel, but because it is far higher on the Rockwell hardness scale, it is much more brittle. After 10 years, I'm still happy with my purchase.

Comparable to more expensive ceramic knives
I've been waiting for ceramic knives to come into the consumer price range, and the Shenzhen product is a great tryout for those who wonder if they'll like ceramic better than metal. (Ceramic blades tend to be a little thicker than their metal counterparts.) I've been comparing this knife to a similar product from Kyocera which costs about twice as much, and so far, I like how the Shenzhen holds up. I may even like the Shenzhen handle a little better, as it encourages a better and more functional grip than the home cook normally uses. For the usual sorts of kitchen duties it works as well as any other knife in my collection, with the added benefit that the ceramic doesn't discolor the foods that a metal blade might. It doesn't have the same weight as some chef's knives--and to be fair, I favor those that come out a little more on the light side anyway. My Victorinox Fibrox chef's knife is still holding sway as my favorite, but this may change soon. (Yes. You can't put it in a dishwasher. It's not hard to clean--90 seconds at most, including drying it. Why would you ever put a good knife in the dishwasher?) Remember that there are still some reasons you need to have steel blades around. You can't use this to pry bones out of sockets, or cut frozen items, or smash garlic with the flat of the blade. Zirconium oxide makes a very sharp blade, but a brittle blade. (That's chemistry. No way around it.) Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure you'll find yourself reaching for this for a lot of kitchen cutting tasks. I know I do.

cuts well but developed small chips over 5 months of use
I bought this because I wanted to experiment with a ceramic knife. This is an excellent all around. It maintains a great edge and you dont have to steel or sharpen it. It is light and easy to hold. It doesn't have the same heft as a steel knife so it's not a good chopper through thick material. This tool is perfect for veggies and boned meats. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I have noticed little chips on the blade lately. I understand that ceramic is more brittle than steel and i have made sure not to put too much strain on the edge so I am assuming these chips came from normal usage. However, this knife still cuts very well despite the damage. It will probably need to be replaced in a year or so. But, overall, I've had a good experience with this brand of knife. It's cheap and I don't mind replacing it in the future.

So far so good
I really like this knife so far. It was a replacement for a Kyocera ceramic knife which I used for about 4 years and finally chipped. This one is like a third or quarter of the price and it works great. I really like the size. perfect for basic cutting like some vegetables and occasional chicken. I don't cut bones and stuff. Very sharp. I have no idea how long this one lasts but so far, I am very happy with it.

Amazing performance, strange shape of the handle
I love this ceramic knife for the amazing sharpness and fast that I never need to sharpen it, since it never gets dull like the metal knives. However, the black handle has an unusual shape, pushing through the top part of the blade, so that I cannot properly fit the blade covers that I use for my other ceramic knives. A large part of the blade remains uncovered, because you can't push the cover all the way back towards the handle. This wouldn't be a big issue with a normal metal knife, but this ceramic one is super sharp and you really want to keep it covered when it's laying around un-used.

Good value
Keeps sharp for about 1.5-2 years. Itโs good value, durable, and easy to use. Worth it if you are not going to sharpen your own knives

Wow! Better than I expected
I knew it was going to be a good night but I didn't realize how nice it would be. Very sharp and very useful. You can fillet fat off of any type of meat. Keep in mind the ceramic knives are much stronger material than any variant of steel or stainless steel, but it's much more brittle and dropping the knife could shatter it or chip it. Do not cut hard material as that will probably chip your knife and to be upsetting. I just wash it in the dishwasher if I cut meet with it, otherwise I just hand wash it very carefully it just cutting vegetables.

Super Sharp
Great Knife, Super Sharp.Wanted it to slice up lettuce without it turning brown, Would be better with a sheath to protect the blade, I put it in the bottom half of the box it came in, and luckily it still fits in my cutlery draw, I would HIGHLY recommend.
