Derale 13005 Remote Filter Mount Kit

Looking on Amazon, it appears there are only a few filter relocation kits available to the consumer. The Derale Performance one, is about the most affordable you can find on here. If you read all of the reviews, it seems these kits are hit or miss. The main problem with them is, what you actually recieve is not "exactly" what is pictured in the advertisement. For the most part I don't like that, however ... upon receiving this kit, I found it to be of really good manufacture. The base is solid aluminum and very well machined. The parts fit together really well (solid, with tight secure and leak proof construction). The barbed fittings, while not being brass (as shown in the picture), are actually anodized aluminum in black and not plastic or composite as some others have said in their reviews. You can tell this by tapping them together - you get a metallic sound instead of a dull plastic sound. The center threaded post (what the filter fits on) fits snuggly into the adapter. There should be no issues there. While there's no dimple for a pressure sensor (or line), there is a place right between the fittings which could easily be drilled/tapped to accept the fitting (I believe that's why the area is there, in fact). This would be no more work than what you'd need to do to on the original design, except you'd need insert your own dimple there to get things started. All-in-all, this appears to be a very well built kit. Oh, btw, it states right on the adapter: "Made in USA" ... this is not some cheap Chinesium knockoff. I would recommend this to others without question.

I’m using it for a parts washer filter so super handy for the retrofit. Seems to work fine.

Used this to add an inline transmission filter. No issues with quality, threads were all good, aluminum fittings were good, threads mated up without issue. Used Blue Monster tape on the threads, hand tight plus a ~turn and no leaks.

The housing is machined to accept 1/2" NPT fittings, and the fittings included are 3/8" NPT. Why even bother to include fitting when they don't work with the adapter housing? Makes no sense whatsoever! Other than that, I guess it will work as intended after purchasing additional fittings.

Worked exactly as it should. flows great and doesnt leak! the fittings are aluminum not brass but not really a big deal for me. make sure you use teflon tape/thread sealant rated for oil, the regular white stuff wont work for long. used it to filter my 4l60e in my tahoe. been on for 500 miles and the truck is thanking me every step of the way. Made in USA. ph8a filter fits perfectly and adds almost a quart to the system and with it mounted up front has kept trans temps down even better. Absolutely would buy again.

Looks like the picture, fittings are black, but good quality. I used it for a remote fuel filter.

The cheap fittings cross threaded every time I tried to install them.
