gold tester
I just receive the tester and it seems to work quite well. I tested it on some gold I mined and rated it about 18 kart which was accurate. I tested my wife gold and was on the money with their also. I am quite pleased with the device so far. We are planning to in vest in gold and their is a lot of counterfeit gold. Tungsten plated stuff and it hard to tell that it is plated this should help out with that. Tungsten weighs almost the same as gold. The only way to tell with out the tester would be to damage the item your wanting to purchase .

Good Product
The Kee gold tester works pretty well, but I believe that you need a basic knowledge of what looks like beforehand due potential false readings. While I do think this is a valuable tool, it shouldn't be used as a standalone measurement. Also be aware that if you ever forget to put the cap on the testing pen overnight, you will need a new one. I think this unit really shines when finding Karat weight of gold vs determining whether gold is real to begin with.

The Pen is dried out and in defect, practically the whole Tester is useless.
I am extremely disappointed with the pen I received. It is dried out and looks worn out, clearly indicating that it is a used pen. This is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, there is no option to replace the defective item, which is extremely inconvenient and frustrating. I expected better quality and customer service. This experience has been highly disappointing.

Already has paid for itself!
Love using this as a backup when using acid test for confirmation. So far, all that has been tested with it has been confirmed accurate with local jeweler! Easy to use, but need to keep an 18K piece handy for calibration.

Excellent product but the instructions need a bit of sorting out.
The instruction sheet really needs to be improved, very ambiguous - went on you tube to make sense of it, plenty of instruction videos. The item itself is excellent and very easy to use (now I know how). Very pleased. Looks robust hopefully it will do the job for years to come. Way better than using acid and appears to be very accurate when calibrated with 18ct gold. The fly lead also works well for testing off of the unit's table Worked on Platinum as well.

Once you calibrate it with 18kt gold. It works great very easy to use and a nice addition to my business. I would recommend calibrating it each use, for accuracy.
