These are the only descaling tablets I use on my Miele coffee maker. Yes, they’re pricey, and I haven’t tried cheaper brands, but my coffeemaker has been working great for the past five plus years!

I have well-water, so descaling is a big deal. My Miele cappuccino maker seems especially worried about scale buildup, so I need to use these tablets on a regular basis. === The Good Stuff === * They look just like the ones that shipped with the machine, so if anything ever goes wrong, at least I can say I used the proper tablets. * It is hard to tell how effective they are, so I tried one tablet out on a coffee pot that had quite a bit of limescale built up on it. The tablets dissolved the scale, although it took a few minutes. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * I am always a little leery about using unlabeled chemicals in my household. I suspect these are mostly sulfamic acid (H3NSO3), a relatively safe chemical-commonly found in other descaling chemicals such as Limeaway. I can appreciate Miele considering the formulation as proprietary, but still hate anonymous chemicals. * They are not exactly cheap, and probably have a nice 1000% profit margin. Still, considering the cost of the machine, they are a cheap investment in keeping it functioning. So I shut up and pay. === Summary === My coffee machine forces me to run the descale routine on a periodic basis, so I might as well use the recommended cleaning agents. I hate the price, but that is just the way life is sometimes. Messing around with a home concoction, while doable, just doesn't seem worth the risk.

Wir haben zwischenzeitlich anderen Entkalker genommen. Sind zurück zu den originalen. Was soll ich sagen. Soviel wie da mit raus kam war schon erstaunlich obwohl regelmäßig entkalkt wurde. Nur noch Originale
