Weathermatic S20P light duty solenoid

I have been using a Rachio controller for about 8 years now. It reported a wiring error on one of my zones after it was on for about 10 minutes. None of our original 26 year old solenoids (Weathermatic M24E) had ever had an issue until now so I did not initially even think of the solenoid being an issue. After some research, I checked the solenoids resistance at the controller and it showed 6 ohms. All the others were showing around 32 ohms. I ordered this and it was a perfect replacement and is now working perfectly. It was extremely easy to swap out the old one. I screwed out the old and screwed in the new making sure not to overtighten as others have said. As an aside I was very impressed Rachio detected the very low resistance of the old solenoid and turned off the zone and reported a problem.

So bought as a direct part replacement. Easy to install (turn off water first). Works.

Great direct replacement for my old ones. I hope they last at least half the age of my 14 year old ones.

This solenoid is slightly different that the original S20P (it does not say S20P on the part). As others have noted, I could not tighten it properly into my sprinkler valve as it would "skip", almost like there was not enough thread. I ended up taking of the little rubber gasket that's on the thread to allow for more thread to be available and have used some thread tape instead. This way I was able to actually tighten it enough and it's not leaking, so I think I'm good. Other than that, it works. Hope this helps.

It worked, solved the problem. It replaced the one I bought, about a year ago.. I hope this one lasts a lot longer. The old one seems to have shorted out, kept on popping the breaker.

This is exactly what I needed, make sure you check part numbers. Got my lawn sprinkler system back up and running in no time. It’s lasted a whole season so far, don’t see me having a problem with it

Fit easily and resolved an issue with a faulty master valve. People complain about the cost but I was a hail Mary away from having to dig up and replace the entire master valve; this took about a minute to install so it was worth it.
