These are great! Finally real almonds on the market
Ok, I have to admit, almonds are an expensive thing to buy in large quantities. However this specific brand is totally worth it. My partner said they are "exactly like the ones granddad had in his garden". These are very real, very natural looking and tasting almonds. Out of the pack, they appear a bit "fluffy", as they would if you have them out of the shell untreated, they are not smooth and polished like supermarket raw almonds. I soak all nuts i buy before using them, for health purposes, and it makes a huge difference. They taste much better, are easier to chew and digest, and it allows most of the inhibitors to break, which adds nutritious value. I recommend you do the same, it will change your perspective on almonds. I saw in previous reviews they taste bitter and what not - you are not treating them right : ) My package tasted amazing after soaking and i am happy that there are still people out there to produce and sell real products! Thank you! You must be taking outstanding care of your trees, thank you!

Worth every penny.
Delighted that I chose to buy almonds sustainably grown. The flavour is so much better compared to the dry, musty Californian nuts. Creamy and succulent. The best almonds I’ve tasted other than those freshly from the tree. Well done! Worth paying a little extra for. Delivery spot on. Simple cardboard packaging.

The real thing!
I usually don't write reviews , also I have noticed on Amazon that when sellers start to get good reviews they put the price up or became greedy, but this is worth a good review and hopefully the price will remain the same as I just ordered another packet. This are real almonds, the almonds that you won't find in any supermarket, a bit of a shame that they are a bit pricey, but worth every penny given the circumstances.

Nice flavour and ethos but there are many shrivelled older looking nuts in the batch
The picture shows both walnuts and almonds as I purchased both so was easier to do one picture. As others have said there seems to be a mix of big fresh nuts and older looking more shrivelled ones. There are more good than bad especially after soaking them in sea salt water which plumps them up and makes it easy to remove skins and odd pieces of shell. They are expensive compared to the California variety but the flavour is better and the cardboard packaging fits the organic sales pitch. Shame about the shrivelled ones which shouldn’t be in the batch for the price.

Not the best: still searching
The almonds are tiny which is normal for Sicilian almonds compared to say Californian but these are small and misshapen. They carry a lot of almond dust: your fingers will be literally brown. The taste profile is good with an almond essence after taste. Generally expensive for what it is.

What you read is what you get!
These arrived in a shipment with 2 other separate items. I liked that they all shipped together (even of no discount for shipping, it was great to "carpool" online shopping products as much as possible). A very strong, sturdy cardboard box held inside a smaller cardboard packet of the almonds. It was a very nice presentation, altho alot of packaging RELATIVELY.. Inside this actual smaller labelled box was a clear see-thru cellophane (or plastic) bag of the almonds. I opened them immediately and put into a glass storage jar. Although it wouldn't be my first time, just to mention for the benefit of others: the nuts look wonderfully "real" -- not at all like uniform California almonds, if you've ever had. Can't fault the product at all .. I originally thought 4 stars for flavour and money because the flavour didnt JUMP OUT AT ME.. and the price wasn't like "i NEED TO GET MORE COS IT'S SUCH value!!" But then i thought, Ah sure.. it also didn't go the other direction; it didnt make me say "Ugh! Another bitter nut. Gosh must have been a particular harvest" OR "boy THEY were expensive!" So there you go ! Thank you for prompt delivery too. And packaging multiple orders together.

High quality
We are happy with the purchase - these are raw almonds of a very high quality. In fact we constantly purchase other nuts from this company, high standards of service, packaging and quality of products.

Excellent Quality!
As with all things natural there's no such thing as perfection. That being said, these almonds are as close as it gets. They are fresh, crunchy, and delicious. I prefer to sprout/dehydrate my almonds to make them more easily digestible, while increasing that satisfying crunch and flavour. I soak them in purified water with a dash of baking soda and ACV for 8-12 hours. Then drain and rinse. After letting them sit for a while to dry out I then spread them on a large baking sheet and stick in the oven at the lowest setting - for me it's 170F. I prop the door open an inch or so with a metal spoon and let them slowly dehydrate for several hours, sometimes overnight. You'll know they're ready when they've transformed from moist and chewy to the tastiest almonds imaginable with the satisfying crunch of roasted, but with all the nutrients enhanced and in tact. Enjoy!

Not at all like the California almonds we're accustomed to in the U.S.
I read somewhere that there were once over a THOUSAND varieties of almonds growing in Italy. As in 1,000+! How many of us here in the U.S. tend to think of the almonds we buy in the store as the only kind of almond in existence? Or maybe we don't even think about it. One of the houses I lived in as a kid was next to a river and had a few almond trees growing on the lot, one of which was a bitter almond. Anyone like the flavor of Amaretto and almond extract? Almond pastries? THAT particular flavor - a "true" almond flavor, if you will - is the flavor those bitter almonds had, because that's what is used to make that almond flavoring: bitter almonds. I wonder if that's what some reviewers were referring to when they complained that some of these were bitter. To me, THESE almonds from Sicily have that same "true" almond flavor that I remember from those bitter almonds - without actually being bitter. Just 100% true almond flavor. Yes, they are a little dusty tho NOT containing, as another reviewer claimed, "30%" dust in the package. Sorry, but that's just absurd. 30% of 16 ounces is 4.8 ounces, which would be a LOT of dust! Those almonds would literally be awash in dust, it floating around and forming great dusty mounds, choking anyone who opened the bag. Nope, just not seeing it. Yes, they do have some dust. That means they were shelled and packaged without being run thru a bath to pretty them up for people who expect their nature products to be neat and tidy. Not an issue for me. Anyone having an issue can easily sift the dust off by shaking them back and forth in a colander or a large strainer and most of the dust should come off. Sprouting would also do it. Might also be that this variety has a bit more dust. IDK These almonds also have a different shape than our standard California almonds, being more boat shaped with one side relatively flat, the other side rounded. And they seem to be somewhat larger too. Makes for a nice crunch! I was set to give 5 stars for value, but then clicked back to my order page and saw the price jumped $2 a bag since I bought them last week. If that price jump is due to increased costs, like the fuel prices going up again for example, I totally understand. If it's something that just changes frequently based on some other thing than increased costs, then I don't understand. I was set to put them on subscription, tho I may do so anyway. $2 isn't really that much in the bigger scope of things. I'll just have to think about it. We are still in the midst of a pandemic and many people are struggling. Think maybe I'll put them on subscription for every 2 months, see how it goes. Remember: when we support growers and the people who sell for them by buying their products, they will all be able to continue bringing those products to market for us to enjoy. I definitely recommend these almonds!
