The Bhagavadgita is one phase of the Tripod of Indian philosophy and culture, the other two phases being the Upanishads and the Brahmasutras. While the Upanishads lay the foundation of the loftiest reach possible for humanity and the Brahmasutras logically elucidate the intricate issues involved in the Upanishads, the Bhagavadgita blends together the Transcendent and the Immanent features of the Ultimate Reality, bringing together into an integrated whole knowledge and action, the inner and the outer, the individual and the society, man and God, all which are portrayed as facets of a Universal Operation, presenting entire life and all life as a perfectly complete organic wholeness, leaving nothing unsaid and attempting to solve every problem in life. Review: Amazing presentation on Bhagavad Gita - One of my favorite translations on Bhagavad Gita. Sri Sivanandajis commentary is very simple, lucid, concise, and stays true to the intent of the discussion between Krishna and Arjuna. The book size is also very nice for taking on the go and the book pages are nice and thick. I would recommend all sincere students of Yoga, Vedanta, and Hindu Dharma to have Sri Sivanandajis Bhagavad Gita on deck. Review: I like everything about The Bhagavad Gita - I like everything about The Bhagavad Gita. It is teaching us what is life and how it should be lived.

God incarnate
This 'book' is God incarnate. I really have nothing more to say. I feel so thankful that Swami ji put his energy into creating this translation and commentary. I am also very fond of the the prayer and Gita Mahatmya. May Swami Sivanand ji 's eternal blessings always flow!

The perfect version with the best comments by Swammi Sivananda
Thanks to Swammi Sivananda's comments this book becomes so easy to understand that you can really enjoy entirely. It's a must in your library and it's a book for your entire life, every time you read it you'll find new things to learn. It's the perfect guide to help you even in the worst moments, one can take refuge in Bhagavad Gita and being taken cared of.

Bhagavad Gita. Simply the most important 'self-help book ever written.
Sri Sivananda's translation of the Bhagavad Gita is one of the better versions and one I would strongly recommend to a 'Western' minded seeker who is less than familiar with the history and culture which produced the incredible work. The Gita itself is in my opinion simply the greatest self-help/awareness/development book ever written. I have several versions of 'the Gita' some good, some great, some not so good or great, the seeker will find the best for him/herself. For my I find Sri Sivananda's version better than the esteemed Paramahansa Yogananda 'God Talks With Arjuna' version as it doesn't stretch the commentaries over page after page. I would only recommend a Gita with commentaries to Western first timers as so much is culturally relevant to a time and place in ancient Bharat that many points may be completely missed. Once familiar you will start to ignore the commentaries completely.

Excellent! Exactly as expected!!
This book arrived two weeks ahead of schedule. Very pleased about that and the book is exactly as described. I am using it to prepare for Yoga Teacher Training. It is recommended reading for the course and Iโm very glad that it is. It helps a great deal with understanding the ancient teachings of the Indian philosophy and culture of Yoga and Vedanta.
