What is the difference between the chourus ensemble and the super chourus other then the extra input? different sounds? more adjustments?

The chorus ensemble gives you a wider sweep on the rate. You have turn the rate up past 12:00 o'clock on the super chorus to get a significant effect. The ensemble is also warmer in tone. I own both pedals and both are reliable. Put in your effects loop for max benefit.

Does this pedal need a 9volt power supply to operate or does it run off of the amp you use it with?

Needs 9-volt battery or power supply...great pedal, though!

Does this work with vocals?.

It's possible to do, but requires a lot of set up work or you would get a lot of feedback running vocals through this. You are better off to use a dedicated vocal processor, Boss, TC Helicon and many others make them.
