Direct replacement, everything fits and connects easily. I did tap the mounting holes before I installed the engine, I think that makes it easier to get the bolts started. Very easy to change the engine on my Husqvarna lawn tractor. 3 more horses and it runs great now. Review: Great engine. - This engine has been an absolute work horse for me. I mounted it on a swisher trail mower and I put it through its paces over the last couple of mowing seasons. It has yet to let me down. Worth every penny. I had to alter the pull behind mower a bit for the new engine but once that was done it bolted right up and fired up pretty much instantly.
