This time makes life much more convenient!
This timer works as advertised & I would it 5 stars for performance. We use it to turn our pool pump filter on & off everyday, and I really LIKE that we can have the app on our phones for convenience, so that we can turn it off no matter where we are, if we know there's a big storm coming. We also use this timer if we have a lot of people in the pool. We can set a countdown timer, which is helpful, to run it for a few more hours than our normal settings, which is on about 9 am & off about 5 pm. The electricians who wired it to our fusebox, liked it so much that they said they would be recommending it to other customers of theirs who will be installing pools. The only issue, whatsoever is the initial setup. I was having trouble with my iPhone, however, my wife has an android, Pixel 7, and I tried on her phone when I was about ready to give up & it was super easy to set up on her phone. Once it was on her phone, it was then very easy to set up on my iPhone. I did email support a couple of times, but it seemed as though they were not comfortable with English & any communication was very frustrating. That said, someone created a great product here! I do highly recommend it!

Compatible with Alexa
I'm using this device to switch both poles of a 220v sprinkler pump for our yard. This timer has both normally open and normally closed options, much like a relay. The ECO Plugs app caused me problems when I installed it, but I sent a bug report through the Play store and it worked the next day. Setup instructions were terrible and the app is not great, but there is an Alexa skill, so now I just use Alexa on my phone and don't need their app. The steel case is well built, I fastened it to the outside of my steel barn and cut a knockout hole through both for the wiring. I chose outside because my home wifi doesn't penetrate the steel siding. I was originally disheartened when the ECO Plugs app would crash every time I opened it, which could have been due to my Google Fi phone VPN, Firewalla hardware firewall on my network, an actual app problem that was quickly fixed, or a combination of those. It is MUCH easier to set timers in Alexa than in their app. As a sprinkler pump, I might even be able to incorporate temperature and rain into the decision to water, but I'm not sure. It was made as a pool pump timer, but it's working well for my irrigation well pump. I've gone through two mechanical timers that cost twice what this one does. I'm very happy with it.

Doesn't work - tried 2 units and cannot even get wifi to connect...
***update 8/8/2020***After struggling to get 2 different units working, I purchased a GE unit (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YTCZZF0/) and swapped it in place of the Dewinwils unit. No change to the wiring at all. As soon as the GE unit kicked on I was immediately able to connect it to my SmartThings hub, and had instant control over the device. The GE unit is considerably more money, but let me tell you this - it worked right out of the box, no fuss. The Dewinwils unit doesn't look ready for prime time.To be fair, they finally did reach out to me by email, but the entire troubleshooting regimen they prescribed I had already done exhaustively myself. I weighed out the benefits too - even if through exhaustive troubleshooting they were able to make it work, how often would I have to mess with it in the future to keep it running. No thanks guys. Please work on the out-of-the-box experience, so many people in the reviews here complain of having to vigorously troubleshoot to get and keep their units running, that isn't going to fly - especially for a device to enable automation! We want this stuff to work every time!I'm usually very patient when it comes to electrical wiring projects like this, but this one has me ready to give up. I ordered this item to power my pool pump, which is a Hayward 1 horsepower 120 volt pump. By all means this unit checks all the boxes I'm looking for in a pool timer, I just cannot get it to work. The wiring for this thing is simple enough, and I don't think there is anything wrong with my wiring connections. As soon as I apply power to the device, the Wi-Fi light starts flashing and I attempt to connect my cell phone to it to begin setup. As soon as I establish the initial connection the Wi-Fi light goes out, and my phone drops the connection immediately. Afterwards the Wi-Fi light will come on and stay on solid, and then it will begin flashing and then it will go out and it keeps doing this over and over and over again. I cannot maintain a connection to this device for more than a second or two, so I can never complete the setup. The manual power button will work to turn the pump on only when the Wi-Fi light begins flashing. Within seconds the Wi-Fi light turns off, the pump will run for about 5 Seconds and then shuts off. I can turn the pump on with the manual power button anytime the Wi-Fi light is flashing, but when the Wi-Fi light is solid or when the Wi-Fi light is off the manual power button does nothing.I'm frustrated and cannot seem to figure this thing out at all. I emailed support but they haven't responded to me in days. I want this thing to work, but I am losing hope. If I can't figure it out in a day or two I'm putting it back in the box and sending it back.

Well-made WiFi timer/controller for 120V or 240V devices but mobile app is terrible
I replaced our 22-year-old mechanical pool pump timer with this unit. This now allows me to remotely turn the pool pump off and on as well as design special pump/filter schedules that better fit our needs. It is leaps and bounds more functional and easier to control than our old mechanical timer.Installation was straight forward with no surprises. The instructions are clearly written, as are the wiring diagrams. (If you've never wired anything using 240V in the US, be sure to read up on the subject first. Keep in mind that there is no "neurtral" wire for 240V systems. Instead, there are two 120V wires, each alternating the current opposite of each other (hence 240V alternating current). The heavy-duty metal weatherproof box the unit is mounted in is adequate and seals nicely to keep out rain. It has four knock-out areas for connecting outdoor-rated conduit. The electrical connectors are a bit small but functional. They are will-protected behind clear plastic insulator covers. On top of that, there is a plastic wiring cover that conceals all the wires. The metal door has a nice weatherproof gasket.I had no problems connecting to my home's mesh WiFi system using the app. Speaking of the app, it is poorly written and buggy. I had to restart it during the installation process to make it work correctly. Unlike the written instructions for installing the unit, the menus and help files are not grammatically correct in many cases. The entire app feels like it is version 1.0. It needs a complete re-write from the ground up by someone who knows how to write attractive and effective apps that are easy for the lay person to use. Fortunately, I'm tech-savvy and have installed numerous WiFi clients in the past, so I understood the process in this case. Otherwise, it would have been difficult and I can understand why others may have had problems getting this to connect to their WiFi network. (As always, be sure to have a good WiFi system in your home that is up to date.)Once installed and connected to WiFi, the switch itself worked like a charm. Hitting the power button in the app instantly turns the pump on or off. I created several timer programs for the pool pump that have it turning off and on a few times each day. So far it is working as expected, even through the company's "cloud" system (while I'm not at home directly connected to my local network).I have not been successful in connecting it to Amazon Alexa so far. The instructions in the app are not correct and are obviously for an older version of the Alexa app. But having Alexa connected to this switch is not a huge feature for me.In summary, I believe this is a well-made WiFi heavy-duty outdoor switch at a good price (nearly half the price of a competitor's product that comes in a cheap plastic outdoor box). As long as it stays reliable, I will be very happy with this device and may purchase another one to control a water heater located in my workshop.

A Couple of Issue, but Outdoor WiFi Box OK - Florida installed
I have been using the Wi-Fi Pool Pump Timer for a couple of weeks now - so far, so good.Things I like: Metal Housing, UL Listed, Easy to program (note below), Scheduling, easy to install, price point.Things I don't like: Door does not latch very tight, issues with initial Wi-Fi setup (note below).Note: I had read in the Amazon comments before I even tried to install anything that there are two potential issues I may encounter:1) The unit may need be close to the router during initial setup.2) May have to turn off Wi-Fi on your phone after initial setup to be able to access it to program, schedule, etc.I encountered both of these issues.1) Even though I had good Wi-Fi signal at the Pool Pump, I did need to move the router outside and close to it for it to successfully register. After that, I was able to move the router back inside and everything is working properly.2) I did have to turn off my phone's Wi-Fi and use 5G to get to the app to connect to the Pool Pump for scheduling, etc. Strange, though, that after I scheduled everything, the connection began working while both the phone and the Dewenwils were both on Wi-Fi. I mention it in case you have problems connecting the app to the pump controller from your phone (try turning off the phone's Wi-Fi & use 4G/5G instead).I installed it down in Florida where the sun is very strong (especially in summer), hopefully it will hold up. I will update in the future to let you know how it does longer term.

Straightforward install and app setup
We had an above ground pool installed 6 years ago, and it came with an analog Intermatic timer. Last year, the "clock" stopped working so you could manually turn the pump on and off, but couldn't set a timer. I picked up this timer to replace it so we could turn the pump on and off with Alexa. The included instructions are very good, with various wiring diagrams for different scenarios. It didn't take long at all to unwire the old timer and install this one in its place. The clear "flaps" over the wiring terminals are a bit annoying, but that was literally my only complaint with the install. The housing is a nice sturdy metal one (a nice upgrade from the plastic Intermatic) with a good gasket on the door and a nice spring loaded door latch. It would be kind of nice if it had a mounting screw hole or tab at the bottom of the box - it was wobbly, but once I ran the conduit into the bottom, that helped stabilize it somewhat.Their app isn't anything fancy, but it does the job. Following the in-app instructions, I was able to set it up, connect to the device, and connect it to my home wireless network. From there, I allowed Alexa integration in the app, then went to the Alexa app and added the Eco Plugs skill to link it up there. We have an Alexa device at the pool, so now you can ask her to turn the pool pump off and don't have to go all the way around the yard to manually turn it off, which my family appreciates!Start to finish, it took less than an hour to remove the old timer, install this one, get it online and completely set up. I highly recommend this timer as an upgrade to a basic analog unit.

Works very well, perfectly actually
Going on my 5th year with this timer. It has performed perfectly. I use it with our Alexa and have a routine set up to run my pool pump. Of course you can always ask Alexa to turn the pump on and off outside of the routine times. Couldn’t ask for a better controller.

Buy Something Else
I have had this "timer" for over a year. I bought it to replace a mechanical timer for my pool pump so I could adjust the time setting easily and remotely. I have been disappointed since installation, and have had to use work-arounds to even run my pool pump.Initial app installation and connection horrible. I couldn't get the device to connect. Once it did, I was able to set a timing cycle. The timing cycle worked, however, I could never access the device through the app again, so I couldn't adjust the timing cycle. If I wanted to start the pump any earlier than my initial setting, I would have to do so manually with the button on the timer box.I have reset the timer several times, uninstalled the app and reinstalled several times. If I connect directly to the timer wifi, I can turn it on and off. However, I cannot connect through the home network or remotely. I have to be in range of the timer wifi signal, which defeats the purpose of having this in the first place. Since resetting (multiple times) the timer schedule does not work. It doesn't matter when it is set to run, it simply will not. I have been back and forth with tech support (giving them credit for being responsive) and it is the same process suggested over and over again. Uninstall the app, reinstall, reset the timer, etc.Long story short, the app/control of the timer is inadequate/junk. Essentially, I have a manual switch for my pool pump. I should have kept a mechanical timer and never purchased this device.I highly recommend choosing a different product, whether it is a mechanical timer or a higher end controllable timer (like this SHOULD be). Save your time, money, and the headache. Avoid this product.I will give them credit for being responsive to inquiries, however, the solutions don't work and are essentially a repeat of the setup instructions.
